Southern Door: offers the famous and iconic Hein’s Beach (a local and tourist favorite). A fun family adventure is booking a tour of Renards Cheese; taste those yummy samples and grab a bite to eat while your littles play outside on the playground! Denn is an artists collective that offers local wine and beer to its guests while you peruse the unique gallery made completely out of shipping containers! Sturgeon Bay and the greater Door County offer many Artist Collectives (The Pearl, Lightbox, ReClaimed & Co). You can check out a play at Sturgeon Bay's newly renovated theater (Third Avenue Playhouse | T.A.P) or go enjoy a show at the one-of-a-kind Peninsula Players Theater or under the stars at Northern Sky Theater. Door County is full of wonderful places to shop, galleries to peruse, wineries to stop and sip and top notch restaurants that start in Sturgeon Bay (CRATE) and go all the way to the tip of the county.
Sturgeon Bay offers multiple sand beaches and play parks (Otumba and Sunset park), Potawatomi State Park or any of the Door County Land Trust properties that are perfect to take in the beauty of Door County. Door County has two YMCA locations for those looking to get their workout in, use the indoor lap pool or children's indoor playroom/pool for those unfortunate rainy days.
Algoma offers a sprawling large sand beach, an arts district (Steele Street), an established winery, (Von Stiehl) a great Brewery (Ahnnapee Brewery), a true Wisconsin supper club (Hotel Stebbins) and an amazing high end restaurant (Son Of Skaliwags) not to mention all the brick and mortar businesses dotting the streets of the downtown all without the crowds.

We enjoyed our stay. It is a very nice location and a beautiful time of year to visit Door Count.
This house was beautiful - inside and out! Literally on the edge of Green Bay with lovely amenities. We will go back!!
We enjoyed our stay. The host was very friendly. Few helpful tips. Bring water , its well water. There is no gas grill for you to use, its charcoal. Kitchen is small so we ate out most meals. The sunsets were stunning and we spent mornings on porch with our coffee. Nice that it wasnt in the crowded other parts of the penisula.
Our experience was wonderful. The property overlooks the lake which is beautiful. There is plenty of space for your pets to roam and play. We watched the sunset every night from screened in porch. We were only an hour from Sister Bay. We stopped at several markets on the way to Fish Creek. We went to Potawatomi State Park which is lovely and Whitefish Dunes State Park which is absolutely stunning. Dogs were allowed on the beach which was a mile down from the entrance. The path to the beach was shaded which was nice for dogs and their are benches to sit and rest.
It was wonderful to have my coffee each morning looking over the water, while sitting on the large rocks that boarder the back of the property.
The cottage is an attached lower level guest house to the main house. It is tucked away in a remote and beautiful countryside in WI. The highlight was the screened-in porch overlooking the lake. We watched the sunset every night and had our coffee on the porch in the mornings. The beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean. The kitchen (as pictured) is quite small so I wouldn't plan to do much cooking. It is fully stocked but just narrow. Overall, our stay was very nice, the management company was quick to respond and very pleasant, and the check-in/out were easy. I would recommend staying here!
Beautiful view of the bay! We had everything we needed. Close enough to Sturgeon Bay yet very quiet and private.
Very comfy and clean rental in nice location on Lake Michigan. Awesome view from the enclosed porch with all windows that opened so we could enjoy the lake breezes. Comfortable beds and pillows. Lynn the other owner is wonderful and the gift of cheese was yummy.
This place was so relaxing! It was a clean, quiet and beautiful place to stay. The stairs to the downstairs unit we stayed in were not as bad as I was afraid they might be. There were only a couple of things that I would mention. 1. This is not handicapped friendly. 2. The stairs going down to the water needed more railing. 3. The weeds around the stairs and house need attention. But none of this distracted from our experience. Would definitely recommend it for a great stay!
A great place to relax! Property was just as shown in pictures. A nice secluded area with a beautiful view, yet close to all the activities Door County has to offer.
Quiet and great view
Our accommodations where exceptional. The space is well appointed and comfortable. We brought our dog, Rosie, and she was in heaven. Lynn is the perfect host! The view was phenomenal. Quiet, comfortable, personal, relaxing and again, the view!! Can't wait to return.
Just a wonderful rental
Lovely home, exceptionally clean, and super friendly host. The sunsets were breath-taking, and our kids enjoyed wading in the bay. Close enough to all the Door county activities to fit everything in. We'll be back!!
Waves were mesmerizing
