Head 1-2 miles west on Broadway, our nearest cross street and you'll go past Horton Plaza shopping mall, the lovely Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy districts and end up at San Diego BAY, Midway Museum, Star of India and the other attractions of downtown! Our home is extremely convenient for Convention Center visits (2 miles) And for military assignments (See distance to local installation locations below). Located in the heart of the unique and beautiful neighborhood of Golden Hill, just a mile from Downtown, this is a prime location for a visit to San Diego. Located on a side street th free parking. Cook your own steak at the legendary Turf Club, enjoy Humberto's famous Carne Asada Fries, or have a stone oven pizza while enjoying the outdoor patio of Luigi's Pizza. Just 2 miles away you can visit the baby pandas at the World Famous San Diego Zoo or take in one of the many museums or the botanical garden during a pleasant walk through beautiful Balboa Park where you'll hear live music and see street performers as you wander from one site to another. Riding home on the Bus drops you off just a couple of blocks from the bungalow or use Uber or Lyft to get around for about half the price of a taxi. You can also hop on the ferry and cross the bay to Coronado for a day on the island. Golden Hill has easy access to all the major San Diego highways, making a trip to most San Diego beaches just 10-20 minutes away. The bungalow is the perfect home away from home to return to after a fun filled day in San Diego. The fully equipped kitchen provides all the amenities needed for making your own home cooked meals. Enjoy the shared back yard with Brand new Jacuzzi hot tub with semi privacy wall separating it from the outdoor kitchen area with Built in BBQ, sink counters and gas fire pit surrounded by custom built redwood benches under the shade of the giant avocado tree. Beware of falling avocados! Use them for some homemade guacamole! FREE on site laundry is located in the hall off the back side of the main house building. Each room is decorated with all the comforts of home in mind. Sheets, towels, and blankets are all provided as well as dish soap, shampoo conditioner, toilet paper and paper towels.
