Bologna is a city of art, culture and trade. The capital of Emilia-Romagna is also known as “Dotta” (erudite), being the oldest university of the West, as “Grassa” (fat) for its gastronomic delights and “Rossa” (red) for the colours characterising its old town. Its soul is in the medieval old town, one of the biggest in Europe, dotted in taverns, workshops and theatres, characterised by almost 40 kms of porticoes. In the city centre there is Piazza Maggiore, where the charm of medieval buildings is perfectly combined with modernity. Not to be missed are the Fountain of Neptune by Giambologna and the Medieval Towers, “Torre degli Asinelli” and “Torre della Garisenda”, part of a rich cultural heritage preserved in several museums, art galleries and religious buildings. It is allowed to leave Bologna only after having tried its gastronomic products, among which mortadella, tortellini, ragù alla bolognese while sipping famous DOC wines from the Bologna hills! Rich in exhibitions, fairs and cultural events, Bologna can surprise you in every season.

The central station is 20 minutes walking from the apartment while the airport is 20-minute drive away.

This apartment is in the city center with easy accessibility to all of wonderful things to do in Bologna. The host was an excellent communicator and provided plenty of information about where to eat and what to do. The view from the balcony is 10/10. The pictures are accurate. The area of town is loud at night as it is in the area of town with Uni students but we had no problem drowning out the sound in the apartment with the fan provided. Only thing we would suggest, if you have accessibility issues, there’s many stairs so this might not be the rental for you. Everything else is lovely and we would book again.

Everything was fine with one exception. I was not aware I had to climb so many flights of stairs. It meant I could not come and go freely. I had to decide on one or two trips out on a given day. That’s the most I could manage at my age.

The appartment is located in a noisy neighbourhood, may be its ok for young people, but for us was not the best location. On top of that, even though the information stated that is was accesible through stairs, it proved far more dificult than I imagined with the suitcases. the appartment had the bed opened in the living room, which we didn't need and left us with little room to move and no couch or sofa to sit, besides the chairs outside and the kitchen table. Other thing I was not aware of was that check in after 20hs had a penality of 20 euros that we had to pay because we got to Bologna at 20.15 and 20.30 to the appartment.

This little apartment has everything you need in fact it’s really not little compared to some others. Has a wonderful common area with some great literature and books if you have time to read them. The little kitchen comes with everything you need including a Italian coffee maker. I slept fantastic on the comfortable bed. Very close by within five minute walking distance to epic Bolognese style food and coffee shops and shopping.
