Village Nook,1 BR Apt.-on the Rail Trail, short easy walk downtown.

I want to keep this review short. It would be easy to write a 'book'. I enjoyed everything about my stay at the 'nook'. My host was beyond nice and helpful. The apt was clean and cozy. If I had a question, the host would get right back to me with help, tip or suggestion. If I head back that way, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them first. 5 stars!!!

Mary and Kevin are great hosts - helpful, knowledgeable, solicitous and unobtrusive. The Nook was spotlessly clean, and comfortable throughout. The very walkable RailTrail being adjacent is a huge plus, and generally getting around town by foot or car is not difficult (but it's the Adirondacks - there are hills). We were looking for just a few days to relax and got them at the Nook. We would stay there again.

Very nice, clean, comfortable lodging for a long weekend, with nice amenities.

Great location for our bicycle rally, since it is a stones throw from the rail trail and the depot, where all of our rides started and ended.

The Nook was very cozy. My wife loved the Victorian bathtub.

Such a cosy little place (little for a vacation home, so much roomier and more comfy than a hotel room!). I loved this stay--from being able to make myself toast in the morning to taking a luxurious bath in the soaking tub at night. It was an easy walk down the hill to downtown Saranac Lake for dinner at the Downhill Grill or any other local favorite restaurant (though it would also be an easy drive). The owners are wonderful, and I had a great yoga therapy session with Mary as well. I definitely plan to return for cross-country skiing this winter!

We had a wonderful stay at the Village Nook! It was honestly the cleanest place I've ever stayed in. Mary showed us around when we arrived and gave us a few recommendations in the area. We took a few of her recommendations. Our favorite was the rail trail, literally just across the street. She also has a coffee maker and Kcups available, as well as many other amenities. I've stayed in places with no toilet paper or soap available, so this was way above that, and at such a great price. Be warned, the bed is super soft, so if you like a firm bed you might not get the best sleep. But you really can't complain in such a cozy space. I highly recommend stopping by!

The location is close to downtown Saranac Lake, very clean room and bathroom with many amenities provided. Plenty of parking, owners very pleasant. Only draw back is that the nearby traffic wakes you up by 9 am.

Mary was a wonderful and easy host. The unit is cozy and warm, perfect to come back to after days out hiking. Place was within easy walking distance of downtown and Mary was gracious and communicative about whatever we needed.

Well appointed apartment that ideally located for all sorts of outdoor adventures. Just steps from the Adirondack rail trail to Lake Placid or Tupper Lake, plenty of nerby hiking including high peaks and lots of varied paddling opportunities. Great hosts mase for an easy stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for our biking, kayaking and golf outings. The accomodations are very comfortable and inviting and so nicely decorated.Thank you Mary and Kevin for being such warm and friendly hosts. Looking forward to our next visit.

Comfortable living quarters, well appointed, very clean and friendly host. Easy on-site parking. Information provided for local activities, recommendations and on-site yoga instruction (go ahead, give it a try). Would definitely stay here again.

The Village Nook was the perfect place to relax after a day of adventure. The location was awesome, with access to the rail trail and an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Mary and Kevin are fantastic hosts with excellent suggestions and easy communication.

This is our third straight year at this property. The unit is well equipped, clean and neat, Mary and Kevin are great hosts and we love the village of Saranac Lake.

This apartment is perfect. Very private, everything you need for an Adirondack get away.

Great place to stay . Close to shopping , restaurants, downtown. Lake Placid is only 9 miles away , Whiteface Mt probably 20 very beautiful miles away.

We went to Saranac Lake for the weekend. Mary's place was a perfect fit. It was walkable to restaurants. Mary had a nice guide of places to check out. It was super clean. We will be back!

We had a great time staying at the nook. Kevin and Mary were gracious hosts, had plenty of information about things to do nearby, and checked in with us occasionally without being overbearing. The apartment is nicely furnished and equipped with everything you need. It was cozy and comfortable. Not sure we'll ever get to this part of the US again, but if so I would gladly stay here a second time.

Mary and Kevin were wonderful hosts who were there when I needed help with the TV, while providing me a peaceful, quiet place to relax. The apartment was spacious and meticulously kept. I was looking for a place near the heart of town and not in the woods. This apartment was ideal!

Very Informative and pleasant owner, who lives upstairs about this unit. Very clean, unique and interesting. Location is excellent on west side of the Village making it easier to get around!

My husband and I had a very lovely time. One small hiccup and the owners were readily available to address it.

Everything was great for our weeklong hiking and paddling vacation. The location is central for beautiful hikes for all abilities and fantastic lakes, ponds and rivers. The town is walking distance to get to great places for breakfast, dinners and pub food. The house is very clean and well equipped, with much more than we ever use. Mary and Kevin are great hosts and are very helpful, even with ideas for hiking and paddling trips. Great time in the Adirondacks and a great place to stay for the week.
