Villa Borghese: Quiet, Renovated Retreat with WiFi, AC, Patio – Palm House 2

Beautiful apartment, great location, friendly host

We were met by Raniero the owner who was an excellent host. He gave us a tour of the apartment and showed us how everything worked. It was a comfortable and big living space. Apartment supplied all the basics needed from coffee and tea to laundry soap and shampoo. We felt very safe and secure here as it’s a very private building with a locked entry gate at the front. The area itself was quiet. Many older buildings and embassies. It’s not the closest to all the attractions, but in return you get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. We walked through the park to get to the main sites and took cabs for the further ones as we’re not comfortable with subways and buses. There are restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. The bonus of a washer and dryer is what helped me book this in the first place as we were travelling for a month. Thank you Raniero for being such a gracious host it was a pleasure meeting you.

A modern and spacious apartment located in a good neighborhood away from the frenzy of the tourist areas. We used buses and became familiar with several lines allowing us to travel all over the city with ease. There's an ATM located just around the corner on Paisello, a Tigre grocery store within 10-15 minutes of walking, and the Taverna Rossini nearby. We enjoyed our stay!

Having stayed in Palm House 1 several times, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Palm House 2 in September 2025. The apartment is well appointed with fine furnishings and art while also providing the convenience of a fully up-to-date kitchen and laundry facilities (en suite). The bathroom, also part of the recent renovation, is spacious, well-lit and lined in beautiful marble. The large windows and high vaulted ceilings throughout the apartment allow for natural light and looking out at the surrounding private garden greenery. And, in the bedroom the window darkening shades work very well. The bed is very comfortable, with additional individual reading lights. Lots of closet and drawer space are provided throughout. A patio in the back of the property is available for the exclusive use of the apartment’s occupants and adds to the relaxing setting of Palm House 2. The owner, Raniero, is most welcoming, accommodating and responsive. We travel from the U.S. to Europe two to three times a year and Palm House 1 and 2 are our favorite places to stay. The residential neighborhood — while not in the center of Rome’s crowded tourist attractions — is quiet, safe (numerous foreign embassies dot the area) and convenient to trams and buses. Shops and restaurants to suit any taste or budget are nearby and Borghese Gardens and Villa Borghese are just a few short blocks away. We look forward to our next visit!

What a lovely place! We had already been in Italy for 10 days (Venice, Tuscany and Florence), and this was, hands down, the best place we stayed. The apartment is immaculate and has every amenity you can think of, including some you wouldn’t expect! After 10 days of cramped bathrooms with terrible lighting, this was the complete opposite – and with consistent water temp and pressure! The kitchen is a dream, full size appliances of every kind, stocked with coffee and even a welcome bottle of wine. Our VRBO in Venice advertised a “clothes washer” but did not actually have one, so the washing machine and dryer were a lifesaver! The AC worked great, and little touches like adapter plugs and black-out shades made the stay perfect. It’s quiet and well-located, like others have said. A taxi to the Vatican was 18e, and then we walked back and hit all the other sites along the way, concluding with a stroll through the near-by Borghese park. The opposite end of the park has an overlook where you can see the city. Our host was leaving town as we arrived, but made sure we had all the instructions and were met by a care taker who let us in and showed us around. What a gem all the way around! It was a great way to end our trip.

Truly enjoyed our stay - great location and wonderful hosts. The apartment is all newly renovated and very lovely. The kitchen allowed us to enjoy our morning cafe and was well appointed, it even has a new dishwasher and a nice refrigerator. The bathroom is incredible with floor to ceiling marble and a large shower. The bedroom is very comfortable with blackout remote controlled shades and good closet space. Our hosts were extremely welcoming, speak english and live in the building so they were easily accessible if we had any questions or issues. All in all we would highly recommend this Roman apartment! The apartment is as you see in the photos: very clean and spacious. It is well stocked for cooking, everything is new and clean. The location is in a quieter area, slightly away from the main touristy areas, which for us was a plus. We still walked essentially everywhere. Overall, an excellent experience.

Beautifully renovated spacious apartment, tastefully furnished, with every required appliance. Away from the noise, adjacent to beautiful Villa Borghese and the extensive parklands. Host was most accommodating in meeting us when our flight was delayed until late at night. We would stay here again.

As with all the other reviews again would highly recommend this rental. It was exactly as advertised with a friend of the owner present when we arrived to greet us and go over all the property details. Having a washer and dryer option was great since we had already been on vacation for 2 weeks, so doing our laundry was a priority and this made it so easy. Everything we needed was provided ... coffee/nespresso machine, all the stuff for laundry, etc. The location as well was perfect for us. Five minutes from Borghese park which is wonderful ... we really enjoyed walking around and exploring this park. Lots of restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets, etc within short walking distance. Just need to research them and Google MAPS is definitely your friend. I also really enjoyed a local Patisserie within a 10 minute walk. The subway as mentioned is about 20 minutes away, but Spanish Steps is an easy walk from the rental and very nice to reach by walking thru the park. Rome is a very busy place so make sure you book all your tours well ahead to skip the very long lines everywhere :) Owner also arranged for pick-up and transfer to and from airport which was perfect and right on time. And the rental itself is so well done and nice ... great to spend some downtime in the evening after a full day ot touring. Highly recommended and thanks to Hal for offering this amazing rental. We definitely enjoyed our short stopover in Rome.

Hal was so friendly,helpful and kind. 100% would recommend staying here long term. absolutely all the comforts of home in a beautiful neighbour hood with a bus stop 2 minutes away/subway a 20 minute walk! you don’t have to leave the neighbourhood in all honesty! bed was very comfortable too which is always so important on vacay! can’t wait to return:)

Second time staying with this host. New apartment in Parioli neighborhood adjacent to Villa Borghese. The apartment is fantastic with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. The bathroom is huge and luxurious. Large screen Smart TV. Rocket fast WiFi. 10 min walk to 5 different grocery stores. Communication with host is easy. Hal has an incredible attention to detail that makes your stay really special. I plan to stay here every time I’m in Rome.

We were in Rome to settle important family matters, and Harold’s apartment was comfortable and relaxing. We called it our island of peace after our busy days. We highly recommend this location.
