Stayed Jun 1, 2024Really beautiful view. reasonable price for this view. You should only focus on the view and enjoy! The apartment is old and not very well equipped. Very old and uncomfortable seats; no heater in a 18 degree period at the beginning (reference to blankets in the closet), defective electrical equipment (no warm water one day); the socket in the bathroom has a loose connection - it only works intermittently and is a real safety risk; poor kitchen equipment (a scratched and crooked pan, no sharp knife, various cracked glasses in the cupboard...), thorny rose bush right on the handrail of the access stairs; climbing plants hanging in the face on the terrace; very dirty carpet in the living room, Ancient yellowed microwave with broken plastic parts But the view is worth it!

Stayed Aug 18, 2018Valsolda is beautiful and so was Villa Bianca. We had wonderful views of the lake from every room. Every facility you needed was there, from coffee makers, microwave, cooker, freezer, BBQ, outside places to eat and relax to a washing machine with powder provided. It was all very clean and convenient. Anna - the owner lives above the rented property and was always available if you had any issues but was never intrusive. We could walk down to the Lake to swim ( 170 steps each way - but you got used to it) and the lake was very clean. Valsolda is small and sort of off the tourist route - which we liked - but you would need to drive to eat out and just a warning some of the roads are very narrow and the locals like to drive in the middle of the road. There is not much in Porlezza tourist wise but 3 supermarkets and a marvellous place near the campsite where you can have a 2 course meal, 1/2 litre of water, 1/2 litre of wine for 10 euros each. Only from 12.00 - 2.00 and get there early as they sometimes can't fit everyone in. The villa is literally a kilometre from the Swiss border and you can be in Lugano within half an hour. If you want peace, wonderful views, a lot of garden to call your own and access to a clean quiet lake to swim in this is the place for you.

Stayed Jun 17, 2018We very much enjoyed this comfortable home above Lake Lugano, which features this breathtaking view from every room. We loved the quiet and enjoyed great relaxation. The location is convenient to Lugano and Porlezza for shopping and activities, both within 15 minutes. Prices are better in Porlezzo, since Lugano is in Switzerland and more expensive. Do be prepared for narrow, winding roads, occasionally not wide enough for 2 cars to pass at once. The owner was very accommodating and hospitable. If, like us, you do not speak Italian and are limited to English, be sure to put iTranslate or similar on your phone, to facilitate communication. We look forward to returning and staying for even more than the 10 days we enjoyed this time.

Stayed Jul 23, 2016We stayed in the kitchen garden apartment. Lots of room with great views over the lake, comfortable bed and plenty of tables and chairs to choose from. It was lovely to sit in the garden and enjoy a cup of coffee or have meals at the outside table and chairs. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Plenty of hot water for showers and a roomy bathroom. There is a washing machine available for shared use and parking on the street. Anna doesn't speak English but we managed. If you stay here, don't pass up the short downhill walk through the gardens to the charming village of Oria. There is a dock you can swim from there too. We enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again. Beautiful area and wonderful views. The only negative was no internet access.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969For us It's already the tenth time (we think) we visit this perfect house in Valsolda. We are very much in love with the lake, the region of Italy/Switz, the hospitality from the owners of the house and the old village itself. Lugano is just around the corner and Como nearly half an our driving (autostrada) or an hour driving on the touristic route. We loved the evenings sitting out on the terrace with a glass of wine and that gorgeous view. We can recommend this villa as comfortable. We are certainly returning next year.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I could not ask for more. I fell in love with this region of Italy/Switz, with historic towns, shops, restaurants and the scenic lakes set in the hills. Great VIBE and action in Lugano and Como, just about 10-15 minutes from villa...(AND as an added bonus, George Clooneys villa!! The locals will tell you exactly where its located!) Back at the villa is like visiting a friends home, very comfy and relaxed. Enjoyed the quiet evenings sitting out on the terrace with a glass of wine and that gorgeous view. As an American, have to have my ice..they have a nice size fridge with freezer. Most all is included. The owners felt like old friends, very accommodating. I would recommend this villa if you enjoy comfortable, not flashy. I hope to return someday.
