The front of the property overlooks the city walls and is perfectly placed in a central location only 4 minutes walk from York Minster and the historic city centre. The apartment is just around the corner from 14th century Monk Bar, the tallest and most elaborate of the 4 Bars of the city walls. The Grade 2 listed building was formerly the nurses quarters to the old city hospital and the first floor apartment is newly furnished and new to the holiday rental market. The apartment is to the rear of the property and shares a communal entrance hall and gardens. The bedroom has a king-sized bed fitted with crisp cotton sheets and the good sized wardrobe and bedside drawers should provide ample space. The lounge contains a comfortable sofa and large screen TV plus an attractive electric stove providing heat &/or a nice cosy glow to the room. There is also a small extending dining table and 2 chairs for the traveller who prefers a quiet, cosy meal away from the crowds after a busy days sightseeing. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob plus microwave, washing machine and fridge. The bathroom has a newly fitted over-the-bath shower and glass screen. Although a car wouldn't be needed due to the central location there is an allocated parking space suitable for a regular sized car. There are countless bars and restaurants in the popular Goodramgate area only 2 minutes walk away and 2 supermarkets close by, a large Morrisons and a mid-size Asda both about 8 mins walk away (or a short drive).

    This property was well located and an easy walk to the city center. It is cleaned and maintained but needs an upgrade. Bed pillows were hard and very flat, the mattress was thin and placed only on a frame. Bedroom curtains were thin and did not offer any room darkening so early morning light woke me very early each morning. Noise from upstairs neighbor was also bothersome for sleep. Inexpensive upgrades could offer much in the way to added comfort for guests.

    Spent 4 nights in York. Wanted to be near the Minster but not stay in a hotel as we don’t enjoy eating out all the time. Also, as we’d been in Europe for 3 weeks we wanted the availability of laundry facilities.

    Very good location for visiting York. Only 5 min walk from the centre. Next to a Sainsbury, so daily shopping is also easy. The appartment is spacious and comfortable. Good parking place for the car too.

    The apartment is a spacious, comfortable one bedroom. The location is perfect for exploring York. There is a full size grocery store about a2 minute walk. We would love to stay here again.

    Great location for walking, but driving a car onto the one-way street was a little challenging. Some additional instructions when approaching from the north would be appreciated. (Google maps was not quite enough.) The floor plan was great for our purposes. We loved the supermarket so close by. It would have nice been to have a mirror close to an outlet, so we could use a hairdryer. Otherwise, a great place.

    We had a very enjoyable few days in this delightful apartment in York. It was roomy, clean, cosy, comfortable and very quiet. Location was excellent being just outside the city walls and only 5 minutes walk to the Minster and 15 minutes walk to the railway station. Added bonus was having a Sainsburys a short distance behind the residence but far enough away for us not to be aware of it.
