Stayed Jul 10, 2019Loved the location and property. We walked everywhere. So much room inside for our family of 4. Only downside is the parking however that seems to be the problem everywhere in fougères.

Stayed Apr 25, 2025I stayed from April 25 to May 7 in Veronique's lovely property and had a perfect stay. The apartment contains everything anyone could need and was extremely comfortable. Veronique met me within an hour or so of my arrival. The instructions for getting the key were clear and worked perfectly. The location was ideal, from both a tourist perspective as well as a practical one, with tourist attractions as well as a grocery, bakery, wine shop and other necessities only steps away. All appliances worked well, and Veronique stopped by a couple of times to ensure that all my needs were met. Absolutely ideal stay!

Stayed Jun 22, 2023This location is perfect for a visit to Fougeres town and the Chateau. The hosts are great people who make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive. The accomodation we had was capable of hosting 6 people although there was just the 3 of us. It is fully equiped with a complete kitchen, dishwasher and a clothes washer in the bathroom. Down the road is the restaurant the Wine and the Fork which has a great menu and good food. All around this accomodation are good shops and even a small supermarket about 150m away. We highly recommend this accomodation and these Hosts.

Stayed Jun 30, 2019This was the best HomeAway rental I’ve had. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The location is right in the town centre so convenient for shops, cafes and restaurants. Just a couple of niggles. I set up a filter for my selections which included “Parking” and “A/C”. Neither were available! There is free street parking 200m away which may be difficult to acquire in high season. There was no aircon but the thick stone walls kept it cool until the temperature hit the low 30sC. Then sleeping was a bit sweaty! If not for those issues it would have been a 5 star review.

Stayed Jul 14, 2018Our family of 6 spent a week in this lovely property. The accommodation was fantastic...clean, spacious, and beautiful with everything we needed. It is in the perfect location to explore Fougères. We walked the garden trails each morning, enjoyed breakfast at the bakery, and day tripped easily to Mont Saint Michel, St. Malo and the D Day beaches. Our host was very helpful and friendly. We particularly appreciated that there was food in the kitchen...many places we have rented have been completely bare so it was nice to have a bit of a start with the essentials when we arrived. We would highly recommend this property!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed at this beautiful restored home in Fougeres based on the location of the home in the old part of town just a minute from the entrance of the Chateau de Fougeres...which looked to be like a mini-Carcassonne. Fougeres does NOT appear in the Lonely Planet France guidebook and we had never heard of the Chateau de Fougeres - but were going to take a risk because we needed a base for our plans to visit Mont St. Michel.... WHAT AN AWESOME STAY!!! Veronique met us at the front door, was very kind and attentive and took the trouble to explain all about the house and the town. The house is BEAUTIFUL - lots of room, nice kitchen, huge spaces to hang out and our family of 5 easily fit in the ground floor apartment. The kitchen had basic-plus cooking utensils, pots, pans, pantry items and was fun to cook a very nice, complete meal in. The ONLY negative was that there is no clothes dryer - only a clothes washer. But there is an automatic laudromat (rue de fautieres) in the 'hood - No prob. And the house IS literally 2 minutes from the entrance of the Absolutely Gorgeous, Totally-Well-Preserved Chateau de Fougeres (which IS like a mini-Carcassonne, only with a working moat as well!!), as well as 1 minute from the beautiful Eglise St. Leonard (beautiful 14th century church), the gorgeous Old Town of Fougeres (complete with stream beautifully meandering through the middle of the town) and the equally gorgeous eglise St. Sulpice. But more than that...the Old Town of Fougeres is very beautiful...with a large terraced park, clean, wonderful old buildings and shops...and it is 1/2 an hour from Mont St. Michel,..with almost NONE of the tourist swamp/glut that you encounter at MtStM. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this as a base for your Mont St. Michel trip BUT caution you that you will be tempted to jettison the Mont St. MIchel part of the trip and just hang out in Fougeres!!
