Urban King bed Loft Free Parking Downtown

Great location. Liked the private parking. Comfortable stay. Had everything we needed. Good communication.

Great location that is easily walkable to various downtown locations. Having parking behind the building was great. The only negative is the loudness. The building walls and floors are super thin so you can literally hear every conversation coming from around the unit almost as if you were right there with them. The property owner provided earplugs, which I was initially confused about, but I quickly realized how necessary they were! That said, I would stay again.

This property is close to the waterfront and Comerica Park.

Loved the interior, very inviting and clean. Host was very kind.

Location allows for a 15 - 20 minute walk to people mover (Fort/Cass station) or to Michigan Ave. We did use Uber one time, we were picked up within 10 minutes and the cost to michigan ave. was $14.00 which included the tip. Parking on the street was great as we were 20 yards away from the front entrance. The loft provided us with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay!

Unfortunately Falsely claims amenities like air conditioned, but is second story and has stuffiest, hottest, unmaintained air circulation. Window units were not capable of helping the space. Sadly just not even comfortable enough to sleep there.

The personalization on the chalk wall was a nice touch!!

Loft was nice inside. Its a old factory in stages of being converted to condos. Only gripe is hot water was lukewarm. King Dinner a few blocks north is a good no frills restaurant. I parked in rear parking lot but later realized parking complex next door has free level 2 EV charging and is only $17 for a night.

Wonderfuly comfortable jewel of an apartment in run down ex-factory. Don’t be fooled by the exterior. Betty is a marvellous host, and replies immediately to any communication. AC takes a while to kick in, and you can sometimes hear the neighbours, but it didn’t bother us. Parking is secure. Area is approx 15min drive to downtown, we paid $13 for Lyft rides in, and typically walked home. If you are not from a city, or are nervous about being off the main drag, this is not not for you. However, although the neighbourhood is run down and deserted, we never felt unsafe, and discovered many hidden gems that we’d never have seen if we had stuck to driving.

Loft was beautiful and great location.

We loved our stay. The loft space was exactly what we expected. The pipes are loud, you can hear the neighbours, and a curtain rod fell while we were out, but I also wouldn't change a thing. I happily stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights while attending events at LCA with my husband and son. The neighborhood seems to be under revitalization, which is exciting to see - the more I visit Detroit the more I fall in love with the city. The loft is right across the street from the brand new Centennial Park, my son loved playing basketball on the NBA size court. Neighborhood and neighbors were pretty quiet and friendly. Check-in process was easy. Garage door opener provided to access the parking lot around back of building. Building is 420 friendly - I appreciated that myself, the first stairwell you can smell it, but didn’t notice much in the hallway and didn’t notice in the loft itself. Loft was clean, and well decorated. Great vibe. The bed was very comfortable. Though we love to check out restaurants nearby, we also like to cook our meals. There aren’t many pots and pans, but we made it work! Shower takes a bit to heat up, but once it gets there it’s nice and has good water pressure. As stated, it’s noisy at night with the pipes, host provides ear plugs, it didn’t bother us at all though. We had a little hiccup with the toilet running, but didn’t inconvenience our stay. The host was quick to respond to our message about this. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and it will be the first property we check for availability next time we go to Detroit!

Welcoming and responsive host. Good location and easy check in. Only thing to really be aware of is that the building is 420 friendly which was not overwhelming but smelled a bit like weed throughout the loft. There was a candle on the countertop but i couldn't find a lighter.

Loft was clean and had everything we needed. Only minor complaint which the owner really cannot control but it smelled very strongly of marijuna from one of the near by apartments. It just permeated throughout the whole building.

The rental looked just as pictured and was very clean. I had trouble getting in the parking lot gate (the host was responsive) but it did delay me and I ended up parking on the front street. My car was fine! The posting is honest in that if you're looking for something quiet, this may not be for you. I was mostly gone, but when I was getting ready for my engagement, I could hear someone's phone call word for word. I was also waken up in the middle of the night by the person above the unit walking around in heels--it sounded like they were IN my unit. Lastly, it was colder than I'd like, as the furnace is the only way to control the heat (plus a space heater). It's an industrial loft, and while it's decorated very chic-like, it definitely has the elements of an old building!The host can't control most of this, but the cold and thin walls personally weren't for me!

Great stay! Very nice accommodation - clean and comfortable!

The loft was clean, cozy, and comfortable! Betty made it very easy to get the keys and was able to answer all questions! The living room ceiling fan just needs a new string to be able to turn off the fan. A throw blanket for the couch would have been nice as well. Overall I’d stay here again!

Check in is a little confusing, you can park in front or back but to get the key you have to be in the front. There was no hot water when showering & the ac units can’t keep up. Not the best area & you can hear everything. Which is understandable.

One night in Detroit for a tigers game and the listing was perfect for my needs!

The property was exactly as pictured, very comfortable and interesting history! Check in was different but the host provided detailed instructions. The neighbors were a little noisy overnight but, overall, great experience!

This unit is not downtown—-it’s in Corktown. The apartment is fine but the building it’s in not so much. The neighborhood may be safe but the condition of the building and parking lot didn’t make me feel safe. Ii’s also very loud—you can hear every movement in the adjacent units….

Extremely comfortable bed! I really enjoyed my stay. The building has character and is obviously older but the loft itself is beautiful and very comfortable. I was able to walk to breweries and other downtown activities were a short uber away. Would definitely stay again.

The loft was perfect for our stay. Very cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Communication with the host was excellent, fast responses every time. I would come back for sure.

My wife and I have to come into Detroit every week to work. We have stayed at probably 12 different apartments and this was the absolute best. The furniture was so comfortable and the building was super quiet and peaceful. Absolute 10/10 for us.

All was as described and I had no issues. Host was helpful and checkout list was simple.

I loved our stay, it was clean and homey. The only thing is the water in the bathroom took some time to heat up. Overall, it was perfect for a short trip.

I had a fantastic stay. It was hotter than hades outside but the loft stayed nice and cool with the ac going. Listing mentioned possible noise issues but that was not my experience, even with the Ford fireworks going on, I slept like a baby. Bed was insanely comfortable, and the entire loft was so cute and cozy. I absolutely loved how close it was to everything also, very convenient location. 10/10 would recommend and stay again.

Urban industrial space with a creative decor. The unit itself is a large studio with high ceilings and large windows. It was clean and well equipped with a small kitchen and nice sitting space. The bed was large and comfortable. We did not hear any neighbor noise until 6:30am and then we could very loudly hear someone walking and moving things around above us - unfortunately even the prpvided ear plugs couldn’t block that noise. The multistory building that houses the unit is very old and rough around the edges (strong smoke scent - cigarette and pot, run down and not the cleanest). The neighborhood is very industrial with many closed businesses, but is just a few blocks from the shopping district of Corktown - which has cute restaurants and bars. Check out the delicious restaurant, Alpino for very tasty food/drinks and a cute outdoor patio.

Quick overnight for a wedding. Free parking! and the price was right.

The stay was very relaxing. The host was very responsive and helpful. The surroundings look slept but the loft was everything the reviews say. Bed soft as a pillow.They even had earplugs (which we DID NOT need). I give the loft 10 outta 10. Thanks Betty

Great clean place....and good communication

I am partial to the industrial aesthetic, and on a practical level, love it when abandoned buildings are repurposed into something new and useful. Betty's place looks mostly as advertised, except that the pictures don't quite do justice to the smaller, more intentional details, like the musical memorabilia. When I come back to Detroit, this will be the first place I look to stay.

We saw a play at the Fox and stayed for the night at this place and really enjoyed it. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Fast communication, easy check in and overall good experience. Would rent again.

This place was super cozy and so cute! I loved the look of the place and what it provided. We would for sure stay again. My boyfriend and I came for a basketball game which was super close by at the little ceasars arena.

Really enjoyed our stay in this clean, cozy, conveniently located loft. The host communicated thoroughly throughout our stay, check in and out were simple and well explained. I will definitely stay here again if visiting Detroit.

My husband and I were in town for Kevin Hart's comedy show. We had a fantastic experience and the loft was about a mile from Fox Theatre. We were able to walk to and from, which was awesome!

Betty’s place is amazing - perfect location, clean, and decorated really well. Our only complaint was some mold-looking stuff in the Brita filter lid, but this is easily fixable. The tap water was good to drink and there was ice available. Just a little noise from the neighbors/surrounding streets but that’s to be expected with a loft. Would definitely stay again!!

This is a perfect spot for a couples' getaway. It's a bit tricky to find the exact location, but once you make your way into the loft you'll be pleased.We appreciated the updated decor since our last visit--nothing huge, but it was a nice touch. We also liked that there was a pitcher of water waiting for us in the fridge.Spotlights in the parking lot come on as soon as the sun goes down, but the curtains kept the space suitably dark. Heat definitely isn't a problem with the radiators throughout, and there's a helpful warning sign to remind of the hot metal.(One suggestion: As soon as you walk in, turn the radiators off. Even with an open window and the radiators off, I was still hot in bed, even the side nearest the window, for a while.)You'll find plenty of dishware for snacking or dining in; we did both and had no problems. A few kitchen staples are available, but you shouldn't expect to cook a gourmet meal without bringing your own stuff. There was a Keurig-style coffeemaker with pods, though we didn't have coffee.You'll almost certainly hear the neighbors, but consider it part of the experience!Thanks again Betty, and don't be shocked to see us again next year.

This is our third time staying with Betty and we love it here, it’s so cozy and you will never sleep on a more comfortable bed. I do miss the old couch but love the fireplace!!

Me and my girlfriend went to stay for a concert and we rented the loft. It was great,everything was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and close to downtown. I would definitely stay again..

Betty’s place is amazing inside, exactly as advertised and spotlessly clean. I was able to access without issue and Betty called me to check in and make sure I was good. The basket of snacks was a nice touch!! The only thing I will say is there aren’t restaurants or bars or stores right next door or anything. Green dot is down the road and should be a place you at least consider. Then a few minutes walk towards downtown there are a couple of places. For a concert or event where you want a sweet place to stay this is highly recommended.

Close to lots of stuff. Clean. Parking was easy. Felt like a safe area. Overall an excellent experience.

The loft is in a old building, a bit sketchy neighborhood, parking lots has tons of huge holes. Bathroom rugs were wet when we arrived. Some dust. Beautiful large windows, tricky curtains (use the pole, we didn't and suffered consequences). Communication with the owners was very good and quick. Wonderful hosts.

Loft was fine. Owner misrepresented the safety of the parking area. Check-in video showed a remote for the gated area. No remote was in lock box and owner claimed the gate “was not operating well” that particular day only. However it was obvious that the gate hadn’t worked in months. Ivy was growing all over it. We didn’t like being lied to and cut our stay short. The neighborhood was very sketchy and that security gate was important to us. No refund was offered to us as we now had to move to a hotel for the remainder of our vacation.

We came and stayed for a concert at The Fox Theater. Betty’s loft was perfect! It’s has a great vibe and everything that we needed. Bed is extra comfy too! Will definitely be back :)

Room itself I feel met most expectations. The area at night is somewhat intimidating and the hallways traveled to get to the room were somewhat unexpected.

Very comfortable space. Close to downtown. Smoker friendly. What more can ya ask for!

Great spot, super spacious, but the AC definitely could not do the job! 5-stars for all the categories listed, but our comfort was 1 out of 5. Barely slept a wink, it was so hot. Ceiling fans just moved the hot air around... guess that's just life in a Detroit loft!

Location was less than 2 miles from Ford field. Bed was incredibly comfortable. The check in was a little confusing due to the building set up. Just sent a video on how to get to apartment with a car. However, we don’t have a car and ended up having to walk around back with our luggage when we later realized we could have just gone through the front door. But just a minor inconvenience. Would stay again.

Betty’s place was exactly what I was looking for! This was my first time staying in a rental and she made the experience so comfortable and easy! The inside is so cute and inviting along with the comfortable bed! The high ceilings it’s a total vibe! Along with 420 friendly! Easy access to parking and easy to get to and from downtown! I will definitely be booking again.

I was in town for a wedding and just needed a spot nearby to crash. The rental was very well represented and exactly what I needed for my stay!
