Cortona, Tuscany
It is the old home of our family! The apartment in question is located on the ground floor of a traditional farmhouse. It consists of two double bedrooms, living room with sofas, one of which is a sofa bed, fireplace, kitchenette and two bathrooms. From the kitchen you can access the veranda where in summer you can eat in the shade and access the garden.
Free WiFi and parking.
The structure has been recently renovated preserving the original characteristic features. With stone walls with large exposed sections, terracotta ceilings with chestnut beams, Tuscan terracotta floors, ancient doors with bolts and old locks, the house has been reborn without losing its essence.
An authentic corner of Tuscany in the heart of the Valdichiana.
A tour around:
From the village of Fratticciola you can easily reach the city of Cortona with all its artistic beauties and its places of spirituality such as the wonderful hermitage of the Celle. Other art cities and medieval villages such as Arezzo, Montepulciano, Siena, Assisi and many others are also easily accessible.
In the surroundings of the village, lovers of movement will find cycle and pedestrian paths such as the Path of Reclamation which extends along the bank of the Esse torrent through the Cortona countryside.
Riding stables for horseback riding, ponds for sport fishing, cellars where you can taste wines and typical Tuscan products, tennis courts and more.
We stayed here for four nights using this as our base to see Cortona, Assisi and other cities in the area. We couldn’t have had a better experience. There was lots of room to spread out. The area was quiet and peaceful in the evenings. You could walk to get groceries. Anna Marie and her family were so friendly and helpful. They even provided us some homemade wine, fruit and other goodies. Communication was prompt.
What a beautiful home in lovely Fratticciola near Cortona! The village is so cute with a market close by to pick up whatever you need. The house is just as pictured but even better when you see in person the wood beams, stone walls and character of the 300+ year old home. They've modernized it just enough for comfort but you still feel the history and character of the house. The kitchen had everything we needed. Having the laundry was a big plus for us. We had blip getting there as our Google Maps was not cooperating, but we found it with the help of a neighbor. There's a list of local restaurants and places to visit which helped us plan our time there. We had wonderful day trips to Cortona, Sienna, Pienza and Montepulciano. Cortona and Pienza were our favorites! We also had a fantastic tour, lunch and tasting at Cantina Canaio Winery, less than 20 minutes away. One of our favorite memories of our trip. Great communication with our hosts and so fun to meet Anna Maria. Highly recommend and we will stay here again!
This place was great to stay in! The hosts were very kind and also very helpful. The place was central to the train station and Cortona which was very nice! Would definitely stay here again!
This is an amazing place to stay for a home base of Tuscany! It is remote but so close to important places to see. It truly gives you a great feel for living in Tuscany as it once was. Very convenient to Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza and so many more. This host was amazing. So many great treats! We HIGHLY recommend this one! You won’t be disappointed.
Beautiful country house. Lovely rural location with food shop and vineyard within 100metres. Very friendly and informative hosts, we learnt a bit more Italian than when we arrived! Stunning towns of Cortona and Montepulchiano close by to explore. Unique experience, cannot recommend enough! We loved it. Thank you.
The property was homely, rustic and welcoming. The owners did everything to make us comfortable with their own produce and wine.
It was idyllic, beautiful, clean, we loved the beautiful house and flowers& the fresh apricots and home made wine!! We would come back anytime we could.
Our friendly hosts made us feel completely at home!! This was a wonderful place to use as a home base to explore the the Tuscan Region. We had a wonderful wine tasting just a five minute walk away. Everything was as represented in this comfortable home. When we did have one issue the family was quick to respond. We look forward to returning!!
We have stayed in numerous rent homes over the years and found this home one of the best. Located in a small quiet village perfectly located for day trips to most of Tuscany’s attractions. Very clean and equipped with necessary appliances. Large by Italian norms. Anne Marie (owner) is very pleasant and helpful and provides a complete printed guide covering most details of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Also covering details of house features, etc. We certainly would stay at this home on our next visit to Italy and Tuscany.
