Markets

When on holiday, every keen shopper loves a visit to the local markets to spy a bargain or find that perfect gift or souvenir that encapsulates their stay in a unique way. The iconic Port Douglas Sunday Market is steeped in tradition and all stallholders must grow, produce or make the goods they are selling. Located at the aptly named ‘Market Park’ on Wharf Street, the Port Douglas Sunday Market has delighted visitors and locals alike for years.

If you want to venture further afield and have a keen interest on local produce, the Mossman Markets are the place to be. Located under the canopy of the awe-inspiring rain trees and next to the historic St. David’s Anglican church, here you will meet the locals who have been farming and living in this region for generations. Purchase giant exotic fruits, vegetables and lush herbs and spices – all grown with the help of the tropics. Here, the early bird catches the worm, so make sure you get here before midday every Saturday.

The Great Dividing Range is not only a backdrop in the scenery, it’s an adventure tour. A walking track, a mountain bike race course, a horse riding trail and more. If you prefer wheels, take on the historic ‘Bump Track’ on a mountain bike or tackle it as part of the RRR Mountain Bike Challenge. Love hiking Climb ‘Devil’s Thumb’ for an amazing view at the summit and a rewarding downhill return.

The Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef is an underwater movie for divers and snorkelers, a great view from the top of a Stand Up Paddle-board, an ocean of dreams for a game fishing expedition. Certified or beginner, scuba diving the reef is the ultimate marine experience. Take a high speed boat to Low Isles and be snorkeling amongst the turtles and coral before you know it.

The Daintree Rainforest is the world’s oldest living rainforest and beckons to be explored by night, invites you to swing through the canopy on a zipline and to climb to the top of the canopy to look over. Leave the bitumen behind and venture along the dirt tracks of the Daintree Rainforest in a guided 4WD tour and discover secret swimming holes and pristine beaches.

It’s your holiday… it’s up to you how adventurous you would like to be.

Excellent location. Great value for the price. Property did not have an elevator making it difficult to take luggage up three flights of stairs. Garage was not useable for us due to heavy smell of paint. Also, unit below us was being painted and caused issues for my wife who has asthma.

Great location, walk everywhere ! Well equipped, great communication from host. Pool is good and adult only. If mobility is an issue, it’s two flights of stairs, with no lift. Just to be aware. Highly recommended!

Fantastic position to beach and town. We needed to drive up town due to my limited walking ability but it would be an easy walk up town for others. The apartment was very nice. Nice and open. Loved the balcony. Really well decked out with cutlery and crockery and all you need for a self contained holiday. The apartment block really well looked after.

The apartment exceeded our expectations. Every little detail is covered and a big thank you to Tyla for making it a home away from home. The added bonus of having underground parking was a welcome relief. Two min walk to the beach and shops and 5 min walk to the marina. Will be back for sure

This apartment was a great home base for our Port Douglas stay. Everything was clean and ready for us. The balcony was particularly nice. My only issue was the water in the shower was not hot some of the time. Overall I would definitely recommend this spot.

Great stay . Only downside was lots of noise during the day due to building work down the road but it was very peaceful at night . Note also two floors up no lift . Fine for most but I have a doggy knee so it was a bit of a challenge
