Very clean, great location for visiting family, very peaceful, friendly host, nice to have continental breakfast provided by host. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed at the Portage Lion for 2 nights for the ND game. Clean, comfortable, and so quiet!Easy check in using a code to the studio. Refrigerated breakfast foods and coffee provided was a welcome touch! Tim and Suzanne made us feel at home during our stay.Would definitely stay here again!

We were in town to enjoy a Norte Dame football game. The Studio was the perfect place to recharge after a long day on campus. Very quiet and comfortable. Restaurants and shopping were easy to access by car. All in all a perfect experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Studio. Came into town for a concert and the location was perfect. Close enough to campus but in a nice quiet neighborhood. The Studio felt larger in person than in the pictures. Very clean, with nice little touches. You could tell the host was very thoughtful - between the extra blankets, snacks in the fridge, plenty of coffee and tea options. Would definitely stay here again.

Was in South Bend for a quick trip to visit my sister. Location was right across the street from the entrance to my sister’s subdivision. Beautiful grounds, the had a continental breakfast available in our refrigerator. Great tea selection and coffee for us. Will stay again next time I am in town.

Close to plenty of stores and restaurants. Host was very quick with responses!

Everything about this property was enjoyable and accurate. Comfy bed, stocked kitchen, cozy living and dining area, secure and easy to use door lock. Beautiful area to sit outside and relax. 20 min or less to anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay again.

We had a fantastic stay, the property was exactly as described, spotless, well maintained, tastefully decorated and has everything you need, the fridge was even stocked with a complementary breakfast and snacks, the owners are really nice. I highly recommend this property to anyone asking for a quiet retreat and a convenient location, I would definitely book it again.

very convenient in all respects

This studio unit is so spacious, with a large living area, large dining area, good-sized kitchen with lots of cabinets and cooking/food prep needs, and large sleeping area all in one room, which is part of a large building on the owner’s 4 acre property. The only room not in the studio is a not-very-large bathroom. We never saw the hosts, but knew they were around if we needed. There was another little cottage which was also rented out for the weekend, but we never saw them either. The host was responsive to communication, and provided coffee pods, tea, English muffins, jam, cream, and yogurt. All in all, a good little getaway spot, which actually wasn’t all that little!

All the comforts of home in a convenient area to all things South Bend.

Our stay at the Portage Lion was great. We had every thing we need and more for our visit to the area. We come to the area often as our family is there. Tim and Suzanne were great hosts. They had some breakfast foods in the fridge for us which was very nice. We will be remembering this place for our future visits to the area. My only complaint was we didn’t find it sooner.

I had a wonderful stay. The hosts were very thoughtful - even having yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, and jam in the fridge waiting for me. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. A+ trip.

I was traveling solo for a bridal shower and was fortunate enough to find The Studio available. The space is quite large and felt very private yet it is situated close enough to the hosts that I felt quite safe. The gardens are lovely, the bed was super-comfortable and the hosts, Suzanne and Tim, could not be any more friendly! They also provide coffee and a continental breakfast! I will most definitely be back!

Owners are on site and easy to communicate with. All instructions were posted on the fridge. Everything worked well and the home was comfortable. Beautiful property; we walked the property one morning and looked at the gardens. Kitchen was well stocked and the continental breakfast was a sweet touch!

It was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Location was great, checkin was efficient and overall easy and fantastic stay! Definitely recommend.

This location has a great property. This was our second time staying here and I chose this property for it's cleanliness and kind hosts. We got to check in a bit early thanks to Suzanne, and they provide a nice little breakfast with your coffee so you don't have to go out first thing in the morning. Will choose to stay again, and highly recommend to my family traveling nearby!
