The neighborhood Pacific Beach has everything you want. Whether you prefer to spend your time with your family at the beach in peace and quiet or hanging out late with your friends at night there's always something to do. The neighborhood is very safe, there is constant police on patrol. If its peace you are looking for, avoid garnet ave and mission blvd between 10pm and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. If it's a party, you will find it on those streets in full swing on Friday and Saturday. Also, don't miss Taco Tuesday which is celebrated everywhere in Pacific Beach. No matter what your style is, there's something for you here in Sunny San Diego!
Wanna get around Nearby are bike rentals, scooter rentals like Bird and Lime, and taxis. But my favorite way of transportation in San Diego is Uber or Lyft. I have them both downloaded and check to see which gives me the best deal for a quick trip. Of course, you can always rent a car and use your included parking spot. Just don't forget to avoid traffic between 3pm to 6pm!
It was very easy
A great stay, clean and private. Walkability is high. Listing shows pictures of view but we weren’t sure if allowed to access as was part of main house, other than that, amazing!
We stayed at this location for a few days when we were in town for comic-con, and it's a great location. The neighbourhood is very nice, with a great perched view over the surrounding area. The house is located about a 15 minute drive from the airport and downtown, so it's well-situated. It sleeps 4 people (two in one big bed, two in bunk beds), and has a basic kitchen so you could do you own cooking, as well. I especially liked the spacious shower in the bathroom. I had to communicate with the owner to learn the location of the recycling bin, but he responded very quickly so that's not an issue. One small quibble was that the floor was covered in a think layer of what I think is soot, painting our feet black at first. We wore our shoes inside thereafter. I'm not sure where it comes from, perhaps California wildfires? Anyway, overall, a great stay in a nice, quiet area.
Nice place but floor seemed dirty, heavy scent of cleaner, and no book to help with TV, shower, etc. Never was able to use the TV properly
Property was clean and as advertised. Communication with host was easy and prompt. The extra touches of beach items were great! Would highly recommend.
This property was very comfortable. Beautiful, quiet location not far from grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, and about a 6-minute drive to Pacific Beach. Beautifully landscaped private patio space with a patio set and grill. Having off-street parking was a huge bonus. Everything inside and out was super clean. All the beds were super comfy. The bunkbeds were a hit with our two daughters. There is a different couch than the one pictured, but the current couch is comfortable and had a recliner on each end. It was so nice to be able to put your feet up after a long day of walking. There were plenty of extras: beach toys, chairs, a small cooler, etc. It was nice having a large walk-in closet to store our suitcases and other items. The kitchenette had all the basic necessities: Microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, mini fridge w/freezer, and a coffee pot stocked with coffee and tea. The only minor negative was the shower--the side shower heads were plugged with buildup--two sprayed with a very weak stream and one had just a trickle. The rain shower head above worked fine and was great. Also, the faucet in the kitchenette was lightly spraying in different directions. All could use a good soak in vinegar. Finally, a welcomed addition would have been a binder explaining the basics like how to operate the shower or portable AC/heater. It would run for about an hour and then it needed to be drained. We only needed to use it twice and my husband is pretty handy, so we didn't bother contacting the owner. In terms of the driveway, other reviewers have mentioned the steepness. Yes, it is steep, but so is just about every driveway in the area. It's commonplace with a neighborhood built on a hillside. Once up the driveway, there was plenty of level area to park. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
Our family of 5 stayed comfortably in this location. Beds are super comfy, great bathroom and quiet! Kids loved the bunk bed
5 stars all around except for an air conditioner that never cooled the space completely and a nagging mosquito that got in when the windows were left open at checkin. he bit me for 4 days lol. great location, great space, great communication. i’d stay again for sure.
Great.
The property is attached to a beautiful home in Pacific beach only a short 5 minute drive to the beach. (Which our family with 3 small children under 6 had to do) You could walk down to stores and water front in about 15-20 min through the bustling hilly neighborhood of north PB. We found plenty of eateries and fun to be had down near mission beach, enjoyed a full day at the zoo, and took in a gorgeous La Jolla sunset. All were within a 20min drive. Unfortunately we arrived after San Diego's heat wave and hurricanes humid aftermath which brought tons of mosquitoes. We weren't able to enjoy the garden space quite as we'd like due to the pesky bugs and found a black widow near the door and other spiders which made us nervous for the kids to explore/play on their own. It took a couple days to cool the space off (with small AC unit) and get comfortable as we had to spend a good chunk of time in the room to protect the kiddos from bites. We had some initial issues with the AC and the owners were kind enough to help us remedy the problem. There were several fans to keep air circulating which helped, though they could use a good cleaning as dust was present on all of them. The tv could use a guide for use as there's several remotes and not super easy to figure out. In addition it would have been nice to use the DVD player for the kids, but we couldn't figure it out either. Batteries were in need of changing and there were a few light bulbs that were out. Not a big deal if we didn't have to spend as much time in the room accommodating our small children. They had some beach gear (2 chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, cooler and toys) an umbrella stroller which came in handy, and a pack n play. We ended up bringing all our own as the listing didn't showcase what was available. The kitchen, although small, fit our needs aside from the hot plate not working (or us not being able to figure it out.. Again, no guide) All in all it was a nice home base that was easy to get to everywhere we needed during our stay. Be prepared for the steep driveway.. Our van took some finesse to go up and down without scrapes/bumps. Our eldest son enjoyed running up and down it though it proved dangerous for our fearless 2 year old. We enjoyed our stay, but to better enjoy the beach with a young family we will look into a spot within shorter walking distance to the water.
Wonderful!!
I just realized I did not review this property right after our trip. We had two days in San Diego in between family visits. This was a perfect location for our two day stopover- spotlessly clean, convenient to sites (we went to the zoo for christmas) and walking distance to trader joes, the beach , shops and restaurants.
The property was clean and quiet. It was perfect for a small family!
Place was easy to find and very clean. Having a driveway for parking was crucial. Parking can be frustrating in SD as I discovered. Great place would recommend.
Clean and nicely laid out. Wonderful spot, would stay again.
