Welcome to the historic Burdette house. Built in 1891, the Burdette house has a rich history and is one of Hot Springs premier Victorian retreats. Nestled in the breathtaking Black Hills. Next to Moccasin Hot Springs, it is located just one block from Hot Springs charming historic downtown with its river walk, shops, and restaurants. We offer two lovely and unique suites. The second-floor suite is the Western suite, and the third floor is the Victorian suite.

Your private suite is theentire second floor with accommodations that include a living room with a full sleeper sofa and a love seat sleeper sofa, as well as additional seating, DIRECTV stream, and an electric fireplace. The kitchen has new stainless-steel appliances and is fully equipped (French door fridge and chef grade 6 burner electric stove with convection oven) including an antique island table from an 1800's miner shed that is perfect for gathering. The house was built in the 1800's so there are two side by side back bedrooms with a one bath suite (with a full bathroom) that has to be accessed by going through the back master bedroom. A room divider is provided for your use if additional privacy is needed. Each bedroom has queen beds, heated mattress pads, and electric fireplaces, creating a cozy atmosphere for sleeping. We provide plenty of extra towels and linen. There is also a washer and dryer available for your use.

At your disposal we have a large property with private and shared outdoor spaces. On the second floor you have a shared front balcony with table and chairs and is a wonderful space to have your morning coffee and plan your day. Also on the second floor, right off the back bedroom you have access to your private deck with table and chairs, a propane heater and an additional side yard with a gas grill and picnic table. Follow the outside stairs down to the gorgeous, shared courtyard and you will come to an outside fire pit, the Redwood dry sauna, a man-made seasonal waterfall and nature pond that is home to our two turtles Franklin and Sheldon. You will often times see them sunning on the rocks or swimming in the pond. There is a shared adjacent yard with a gas grill, two picnic tables, a children's playset, and a nice Redwood swing. It is a wonderful area for children to play in and has a nice view of the historic downtown area.

Pets are allowed at the Burdette house on the second-floor suite, but be aware parties are not allowed. For your convenience, it is self-check in and self-check-out. There is a guestbook located on the kitchen table to help guide you. We live on the first floor and are around if you need assistance. We also provide one space that is outdoor covered parking in the carport and plenty of street parking is available. We welcome you, are grateful for your business, and will do everything to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.

Our stay at the Burdette House was the best experience we could have hoped for. The house is so beautiful and so well done in every way. Exceptionally clean and attention to detail was outstanding. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

We had a wonderful time at the Burdette House! The hosts seem to have thought of everything, not just for the adults but for our kids too. The home was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the little touches like fresh flowers were very thoughtful. We were conveniently located within walking distance or easy drives to so much. We hope to return again and continue exploring beautiful South Dakota.

We love staying here! The host's are welcoming and accommodating! This was our second stay and we are preparing to book again. The space is beautiful and close to downtown. You can park and walk to everything. Love it! We travel a lot and this space is definitely the nicest and most organized space we have stayed!

We had a great stay at the historic Burdette House! Check-in was a breeze, the place was clean, organized, and well-maintained. Everything we needed was easy to find. My kids loved the toys and were never bored. The property had a nice playground and little pond with turtles. It was also just a quick walk to a lovely river walk and waterfall. My kids had great fun wading and playing by the waterfall. There was also a little fountain of spring water for drinking. We filled our water bottles there every time we walked that way. Denise and Andy were wonderful. They left a vase of fresh flowers and a bag of coffee. They invited us to feed the turtles with them one evening, which the kids loved. They were quick to respond and close by if we needed anything, but they also gave us our space. Really, we couldn’t have asked for a better time in Hot Springs, and if we ever went back we’d definitely stay at the Burdette House!

This home away from home was the respite we needed midway through our road trip. The kids enjoyed the play equipment and watching the turtles and the grown-ups enjoyed the relaxation and space. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
