The Blue Heron Hideaway

This is a great location and very nice property. It was perfect for visiting north beach & surrounding area. The bed was comfortable, coffee bar was well stocked & it was very very clean. Another review mentioned a wet dog smell. I didn't notice this at all. My son LOVED the turtle pond on the property and we visited several times. The only reason I took a star off is the noise upstairs. Other reviews mention this. I figured they were exaggerating, but they definitely aren't. I was awoken 1st morning at 6:30 & it was too loud to fall back asleep. Sounded like a parade above us.. Second morning I woke up to the dog barking right by our door and somebody opening & closing the door going from their garage to their stairs very loudly several times. Maybe close it a little quiter when you know you have guests staying? It did seem a bit inconsiderate to me, though I do understand given it being directly underneath their home noise cannot always be helped. If there is any way to sound proof, that may really help. I would still recommend. Just bring noise canceling geadphones if you're not trying to get up that early!

This little studio was perfect for me, my husband, and our dog Ozzy! The bed is huge and very comfortable and the temperature is easy to control. It felt like a lot of space despite just being one room. A short, pleasant walk to a private beach or 7 min drive/15 minute bike ride to the more popular public beach with dining and shopping. The space was well stocked, we especially loved the kitchenette and shower. It also had a few bonus features we enjoyed, such as a sound machine, surround sound TV, and a private patio with a nice view in the evenings. The neighborhood is quiet and cozy. It’s a 5 minute walk to the island dog park. We will be back!

A simple and lovely accommodation with boardwalk to the beach right in the backyard. Kitchen well stocked with appliances and cookware; you'll need to bring your own essentials (oil, spices, etc). Comfortable bed as well. I would gladly return.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay. This property was the perfect, quiet retreat with easy access to the beach. The local fare is terrific and within a 2 mile drive. The studio is exactly as pictured. The small kitchenette made a huge difference in overall convenience and comfort. We loved the little patio with comfy seating for morning coffee and afternoon board games and wine! Thanks for a great stay!

This property is so cute! Very spacious unit for 2 people. The owners were very nice and gave us recommendations on where to eat and things to do. You are steps to a wonderful beach with very calm waters. The dolphins were jumping all day! A short walk to a coffee shop and pizza . Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Highly recommend! The unit was very clean, beautifully decorated, equipped with everything needed, and in a wonderful location, just steps from the beach. We will definitely book again should the opportunity arise.

Enjoyed our stay here at this getaway. Beautiful area and will be back again!

Parking was in front of property dri eway, absolutely no sign of pets other then there being a very clean pet bed

Clean and comfy suite in a great location!

This was a great place. I wished I had found in sooner. It was more than perfect for 1-2 persons and a pet. I have stayed many places in Tybee and Savannah or the years and this is my favorite!

This was the second time in 3 yrs we’ve stayed at this location. Which we love. Quiet and private neighborhood. Perfectly away from the touristy area.

The apartment is a cozy suite beneath the owner’s home, with private access, its own porch, and a driveway parking spot. Inside was thoughtfully arranged with almost everything we needed.Positives: The location was fantastic—private beach access just steps away, plus a lovely view of the pond and dunes. We appreciated the many extras: outdoor shower, beach chairs, hammock, smart TV, well-stocked kitchenette, extra blankets, beach towels, charging ports, and a white noise machine. Small touches throughout showed care and attention.Negatives: We could hear the owners through the interior door to their garage, which felt less private. The white noise machine helped. Even with blinds closed, the windows lacked nighttime privacy. The bed sagged toward the middle due to broken support legs, and there was no full-length mirror. The Nespresso machine didn’t work properly, often stopping mid-brew with a red light.Overall: A few issues with privacy and comfort, but the location, amenities, and thoughtful details made for an enjoyable stay. More transparency about the owners living on-site would help, but we still appreciated the convenience and charm of the space.

Wonderful place to stay and location! The suite is well organized and was in excellent condition! There were lots of little extras to take advantage of. It’s a 5-7 min walk to the beach, a part of which includes a walk over the turtle pond bridge. There were tons of turtle to see and they were eager to see me. Would definitely stay again!

My best friend & I made a last minute decision to get a place on Tybee island while traveling through on a girls trip & it was worth it. I Would stay here again. Close walk to the beach, the room was clean and large, overall great space for 2!

Quiet, clean neighborhood, beach themed decor, very clean and cute studio style space! Five minute walk to private beach area and a short drive to the busier end of the beach. Minutes away from great food spots. Would stay here again and recommend.

The studio apartment was perfect. The location is beautifully maintained. It is a short walk along the private boardwalk to the beach. Along the way, there were egrets, turtles and other wildlife. The setting serene and the natural beauty is breathtaking. If you have the chance, stay here.

We came to Tybee Island for our honey moon and we enjoyed our stay. After a few months of planning our wedding we needed some peace and relaxation and this was what we needed.

Loved the short walk to the beach, the convenience of the cooking appliances, excellent sleep on a premiere mattress, nicely decorated throughout!

Like that it’s on the north end of the beach. Easy to get on/off the island. Owners are on site, but didn’t bother us. They have a gas grill that was not on the listing (we never used it). Walking distance to the lighthouse, north beach bar and grill, and a park to walk our dog.

Would recommend for a couple looking for a quiet place to stay. We rented bikes and were able to travel all over the island. This is studio lock-off so requires being extra quiet. Nice pond out back with dozens of turtles off the pier.

We had a wonderful time while on Tybee Island. The studio apartment was clean, bright and comfortable for the two of us and our dog. So much History, we visited Fort Pulaski, and took the light house trail. We even crossed paths with an armadillo. Also visited the Science Center. Great restaurants, and beautiful walks. The one down fault was zero tolerance on the beach for dogs and we could not leave the dog unattended in the apartment, so my husband and I took separate walks on the beach. It would have been nice to have early morning and later afternoon times for our pets. Other than that, if you don’t have a dog, I would highly recommend the locations.

We've stayed on Tybee multiple times, and this is the best place we've stayed. Perfect for the two of us!

The main annoyances are that this residence is located on the first floor with heavy footed residents staying above who get up very early with apparently little sensitivity to their 'klunking around' nor the decibel range of the music they play.

The property looked as advertised. It was right by the beach and we had a great stay.

The property is quiet,clean and i felt safe. It was my teenage daughter and I. The beach is just in the backyard. Way more quiet then the beach near the pier. We would definitely go there again!
