The Blue Haven - Newly Renovated 3BR, 8 mins to Downtown & Pet-Friendly

This was a complete disaster. The property was not described accurately and I was unable to access the property. I’m still dealing with VRBO to receive my refund. Quite honestly this property should not be listed to rent out. The owner refused to refund my money even though I was unable to access the property and many deficiencies at the property and misleading pictures and lies. It’s basically a scam!

I love this place!! It's super cute and clean and roomy. It was so easy to enjoy downtown Pittsburgh from here. The hand written note and candy were a nice touch. Check-in and checkout were a breeze!

The rental was exactly as advertised. The apartment space was very clean. The owner was very easy to contact and left detailed imstructions, as well as helpful tips and suggestions for entertainment and meals.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this Vrbo property! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and exactly as pictured—if not better. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to the small touches that made us feel right at home.The location was perfect—close enough to everything we wanted to explore, yet peaceful and private enough to relax and unwind. Communication with the host was seamless; they were incredibly responsive, helpful, and welcoming throughout our entire stay. Would highly recommend and will be back!

The house is in a fantastic location with stunning views of downtown just a short walk away. The interior is absolutely beautiful, fully updated, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Everything was provided—chocolates, coffee, paper towels, toilet paper, towels, bedding, and plenty of cozy pillows. Communication with the host was excellent, always prompt and professional. We walked to the Pirates game and it only took about 40 mins.We had a minor issue with parking due to someone blocking the driveway, but it was quickly resolved with the friendly upstairs Airbnb renters.Note that you may hear occasional footsteps from the upstairs unit, but the family staying there was quiet and considerate during our entire stay.Highly recommend this place for its charm and prime location!

Located near a lot to do, but quiet and relaxed area. Apartment is nicely furnished and decorated. Lived up to the description and served us well. We didn’t do any cooking but appliances were new and functional.

Our stay with our family at this recent property was very enjoyable. Thanks to the host Nicole who made it all worthwhile. Her friendliness and caring ways made it possible for a clear communication whenever I had a question or concern. It was a pleasure dealing with Nicole .. We stayed at this property last July and liked it so much we returned for a second time. Perfect for my husband and I and our son who lives in area and my handicapped mother in law. We also had our 15 year old dog who actually remembered the property from last visit.

This was a last minute booking and Nicole was quick to respond to questions and assure me prior to booking. The location is on Mt. Washington and there are Walkable eateries and great views to be had close by. The property interior looks exactly like the photographs and was clean and spacious. Our family is largely outgrowing hotels as our kids get bigger and this allowed everyone more room to sprawl out. Each bedroom is larger and comfortable. The living area is cute and my kids loved playing a game. We were grateful to find a couple of unexpected additions such as toothbrushes as my boys forgot theirs! The kitchen had everything we needed to fix light lunches and breakfasts and reheat leftovers. Check-in was easy and went as expected. Thank you so much for having us!

Everything was clean and looked exactly like the booking. It is a short drive away from most activites in pittsburgh making it a great place to stay. I would definetly stay here again.

House was very cleanly with easy to use AC and heat. Nice kitchen and appliances with plenty of other amenities. Bedrooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. Great updated bathroom with plenty of hot water. Communication with the host was efficient. Only negative comments would be house is on top of a tricky hill to navigate, and is a shared level apt. Host was great Easy check in and check out.

We were very impressed with the whole experience. From the communication with the owner to the cleanliness of the house.

We were in Pittsburgh primarily for a Steelers game, but also to re-visit our old stomping grounds in Allison Park (north suburb), where we lived years ago when I started my engineering career with USS corp. There were 5 of us in total, all family. Renting a home in Mt Washington was not even on the radar initially, our plan was a hotel downtown, but no go when the Steelers are playing at home. To say we are glad we did would be a huge understatement. It added so much to the experience. The house is in a great location, a very short walk to Grandview Ave and spectacular views overlooking the city. About 0.4 miles to the Duquesne Incline (albeit very hilly) and a little longer walk to the Monongahela incline, but still doable. The house is an a very old neighborhood, typical for many areas in and around Pittsburgh, however the interior has been completely updated and is very lovely and comfortable. A few highlights: 1. Communication with Nicole was superb. She was ultra timely, professional and very thorough, as good as it gets in our experience. 2. Furnishings and supplies in the house were well thought out from a renter's perspective, including things like spices, coffee, paper towels, toilet tissue, hand and bath towels, bedding, and plenty of pillows on the beds and in the living room. 4. Check out was simple and straightforward. A final note. Mt. Washington is extremely hilly, almost crazy hilly. But don't let that deter you, the location is the best.

Property was exactly as advertised. We had a great stay just outside of the down town area. A short drive/uber ride away from the heart of the city. Nicole was a gracious host, easy to get ahold of, and offered great recommendations.

The location of the place is perfect for plans centering around downtown. The place is newly renovated in an older neighborhood. Parking is challenge in the area but there is a parking pad at the back door. The beds were super comfy and helped us get a good night’s sleep. The host was super easy to communicate with and also was proactive to let us know the AC was being worked on before we arrived. Everything was fixed and we were able to enjoy our week.

The Blue Haven was a great place to stay and it lived up to the listing. All of the rooms were very spacious and clean, and the location was great! Nicole was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this place, and would stay here again if I'm back in the area.
