Absolutely loved this home. Tall ceilings, large rooms, and covered porches. Large living room where all eight of us could relax together. Just the authentic feel we were hoping to experience in Charleston. Well located only a short walk to King Street. I would definitely recommend!
Easy, and the spaces provided were just as described online.
Very cool old house in a good location. Neighborhood was very noisy during the day, especially in the morning (I think becaue of nearby construction). Several burnt out lightbulbs, and extremely dusty chandelier bummed us out but the good far outweighed the nuisances.
Would recommend this property to friends and family
Property was as expected for our party of 8 siblings visiting Charleston for the first time. We liked large areas to congregate in morning for coffee and late afternoon for happy hour gatherings. Sleeping arrangements with private baths was a plus. Small improvements like extra hooks in bathrooms for tower would be handy. Lots of plates and cups were good in kitchen. We had a wonderful trip no disappointing surprises. Thankyou Jerome
This house was even more beautiful than the pictures could show. So much room, beautifully appointed, kitchen was well-stocked with all the appliances we needed. It was very well cleaned as well! A short walk to all the Charleston bars, shops and restaurants. Would definitely rent again the next time we're in Charleston!
House is gorgeous with ample room for visiting with friends and family! Located in a convenient location. Everything you need is close by! Restaurant called The Grocery, wine shop and coffee shop within a short walk.
Issues started before we got to the property. The listing advertised two parking spots and we were notified just days before that there would only be 1 spot. We had two cars, luckily the people using the other spot were not using it so we were able to use theirs but had no help from the property managers. Then we asked several days in advance for an early check and we were told that they were happy to accommodate if they could and to text them the morning of. So when we texted the morning of they didn’t respond for several hours and told us we should’ve texted them the day before but that they have policy of no early check in when they have reservation the day before. Would’ve been nice to know and we would have planned accordingly. When we finally got inside, the AC was at 80 degrees and wouldn’t cool down. We texted the concierge line to get help and they got someone out after a few hours but it still took all night to cool down. Then, the next morning we realized our refrigerator wasn’t working. We had to quickly move our food to a cooler so it wouldn’t spoil. The concierge line wasn’t immediately helpful, asking us if we over stocked the fridge and then asking us to climb on the counter to unplug and replug the fridge. Eventually they called a technician and dropped off a mini fridge. There was no follow up from management to see if things were fixed or if we were comfortable. The ceiling fans didn’t work in all of the rooms and there were bugs in one of the beds, at this point we just stuck with it because we didn’t want to spend another day trying to work with them to fix issues. I understand things break, but we were extremely patient with everything and felt like customer service could have been improved upon. It was one thing after another and after spending thousands of dollars to stay there it was very disappointing. I spent the first day and a half of vacation trying to fix problems. The text line seemed disingenuous. I even called and left a message to talk to someone and never heard back. I feel at the very least we deserved a phone call and apology. Overall the property was in a great location and was a good size for our group of 8. Everything else was good but I will not be staying here again. Thank you, Casey
This house is absolutely perfect. Upon arrival you feel like you are taking a step back in time, and when you open the front door you realize that the owner has somehow balanced the old and the new in the most elegant of ways! It is impeccably decorated with southern, modern charm. Every detail from the chandeliers to the modern wall sconces are perfect. The outdoor sitting areas are great for coffee in the morning or dinner at night. The kitchen is stocked with whatever you need, beds are comfortable, great shower/water pressure, etc. The location is perfect. The neighbor on one side is super nice , the other side is a B&B with a sandwich shop in the basement. We had lunch there one day and everything (salad, soup, sandwiches) were great. You can also walk across the street to a cute bakery. King street is a few blocks down, but walkable. Other hidden gems on the way include a coffee shop and upscale consignment store. If I could suggest anything it would be to tighten the screws on the dining table outside they were a bit wobbly . And that’s a big stretch… to find something wrong with this place. One thing to note is that a lot of homes are being renovated on the block, and the teams start early.
We loved the house. It was so comfortable to hang out in the living room. The kitchen was well appointed and the bedrooms were very comfortable. We’d love to come again.
