Superior apartment with stunning Views of Matterhorn. 1 free return taxi ride

Loved the view and spaciousness of apartment.

The unit was as perfect as the view of the Matterhorn! We were 4 adults and 2 young children. It was spacious, the bedroom set up was extremely comfortable and the kitchen was so well equipped. The hosts suggestions were spot on!

The entire apartment was impeccable. Beautifully decorated, beautiful views, well appointed kitchen. It was wonderful to be up away from the fray. We had beautiful views of the fireworks in town on New Year’s Eve. Just a lovely place and we hope to return. Thank you, Peter and family.

This is our second stay in Peter’s apartment. It is roomie for a family of six. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The view is amazing and you can never get bored of the Matterhorn view. It’s an easy walk to Sunnegga lift. Coming back from town is uphill and we utilized the taxis if we had groceries. Will definitely be back!

The property was excellent. Fantastic view of the Matterhorn. Property was clean with plenty of room. Nice fireplace and outdoor sitting area. Kitchen had everything you needed. Taxi provided to and from was nice touch. Peter was easy to work with and had a lot of very helpful recommendations. would stay here again for sure.

The apartment was beautiful! The views from every room were incredible and I never got tired of seeing the Matterhorn in all its glory, from morning until evening it’s a different picture. The bedrooms/baths were immaculate and comfortable. The warm floors were awesome! As a 77 year old grandma, it was difficult to push my two year old grandson up the hill in his stroller, but otherwise I had a truly wonderful and memorable week with my daughter, son-in-law and baby. Thank you Peter for always responding to my inquiries and making our ski vacation a great adventure.

This is probably one of my favorite houses we have ever stayed in. No pictures can do the view of the Matterhorn justice. No reason to walk up to scenic spot when you can just walk out on the patio. It had everything we needed and it was a quick walk to town. Very clean and comfortable. If you want a view this house is it.

What an amazing place! The views were spectacular. The accommodations were perfect for our family. And I have to say, the best washer/dryer in Europe. It’s nice to have clean clothes after a great day of skiing and sightseeing.

The condo is beautiful, clean and spacious. Peter, the host, was very responsive. The photos don't do it justice. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and very clean and updated. The condo contains a washer and dryer that worked well for us.There is a large family room with surrounding windows with views of the Matterhorn. Two of the bedrooms have balconies with Matterhorn views as well. There are 3 separate bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms and separate toilet rooms. We were two couples but three couples or a family with children would fit well. The closets are spacious and contain hangers. There was no soap or shampoo, so bring your own. There was a good supply of bath towels. The rental comes with a to/from taxi ride, which is helpful with luggage. The condo is about a half mile uphill walk from Zermatt. It is a good work out, but if you can't walk that far uphill, you will need to get a taxi. I would highly recommend this condo if you are visiting the Zermatt area.

Great location to view The Matterhorn on a clear day

This is an amazing property with a wow view from every window.

Peter was a wonderful host and the property is everything you could want. The views are magical and the layout of the property is perfect with balconies that overlook Zermatt. When we booked there was nothing mentioned about accessibility other than “building has lift” which is perfectly correct. BUT there are 44 steps that you must navigate to get there after walking up a switchback. The steps weren’t discussed until we received our check in instructions and it was too late to change accommodations. We contacted Peter about the steps but reassured us telling us the hotel would let us use their lift and we would only need to navigate 4 steps. Wonderful but not accurate. The hotel was very understanding and allowed us to use the when they were open which we found to be not very late in the afternoon AND the third floor is a private residence so the lift only took us half way up. We had to pull a wheelchair up and down 44 steps every time we wanted to come or go. To get to the property you will need a second mortgage on your home if you can’t walk. The taxi ride is 50 US to go up the very steep switchback. For capable individuals it is a WONDERFUL option but we had one person in a wheelchair and two with COPD traveling with us and the situation made it impossible to enjoy our stay as we should have.

Engelhaus was an excellent choice for us. The flat was comfortable, spotless and well equipped with everything we needed.The view over Zermatt to the Matterhorn was breathtaking. Peter was an outstanding host and very responsive to any question we had.There is a reason they call it Engelhaus. It is an uphill walk from the city center and all the cable cars and funicular. Taxis are plentiful though, and we love to walk. So not a problem for us. Just something to be aware of,Overall, we would recommend highly for a stay in Zermatt and would not hesitate to rebook if we visit again.

Large 3 bedroom unit, each bedroom with it's own bath. Well stocked kitchen and a living area with a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. We will definitely rebook again when visiting the area.

3 rooms all with en suite restrooms. The views of the Matterhorn and the town cannot be better. Peter’s a fantastic host and his explanations were perfect. Only thing is be sure to print taxi voucher before you leave your home town if you do not have printer access prior to landing in Europe.

Loved the apt, great view of the Matterhorn. Easy check in/check out and it was nice to have a bathroom in every bedroom, we also appreciated having both a washer and a dryer. Quiet location on the edge of the village but was a bit of a hike to visit our other friends who were staying close to the Matterhorn express. Will definitely stay there again.

My 3 kids and I loved this apartment. It has the best views in the world, every amenity you'd need, and the owner Peter is very easy to work with. We also thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants Peter recommended and the walks into town. Highly recommended!

Peter was a great host! Property description and listing accuracy was spot on. Clean, safe, quiet and comfortable. Plenty of room for a small group with individual bedrooms and spacious open areas to gather and enjoy downtime. This was the third consecutive stay in Zermatt, but one of the best since we were able to spend time together vs having separate hotel rooms. Great trip! Thank you Peter!

Stunning views from the very spacious apartment and great communication with the host.

Our host Peter was informative, helpful, and answered all of our questions in a timely matter. He was VERY helpful with the check in process and instructing us on how to navigate the town efficiently. The house is beautiful, well kept, with amazing views. It was very relaxing with bath robes for relaxation and the kitchen had everything we needed! If I could give them ten stars I would!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The entire apartment was clean, comfortable, and well equipped (quite possibly the best equipped kitchen we’ve encountered in a VRBO). The location was great, close enough to town, but being up the hill a little gave a panoramic view of the Matterhorn with the town in the foreground. The walk down to the ski bus or Sunnegga lift was fine, and we skied back to the apartment most days. It is a short, steep ungroomed trail with a road crossing to get to the back door. We would definitely stay here again!

This property was amazing. It fit our needs perfectly. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well outfitted, and the views were incredible. Peter was very kind and helpful with organizing the stay and providing information about Zermatt. I would 100% recommend staying here, and I would stay here again.

Peter's apartment is amazing and the view is the best in Zermatt! The living area and two of the bedrooms have views of the Matterhorn. We never got tired of the view. The apartment is well appointed and the kitchen has everything you need! It even has a dishwasher. The entire apartment was very clean. All three bedrooms have full bathrooms. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. Beds are comfortable and linens are in great condition. The location is about a 15 minute walk down to town and less than 8 minutes to Sunnegga Ski Lift. (The view is so worth it!) There are electric taxis that are available for the return trip. We used Christope Taxi and would call them and they picked us up where ever we were in town. Very easy.Peter is great to work with and answered ALL my questions before visiting. He provided a lot of valuable information for the area. He provided recommendations for ski rentals and ski instructors. I was very happy with everything he provided and recommended. Thank you Peter.

Failed to tell us that there would be constant construction above us and one night lasted until we complained at 10:30 at night. Besides that nice place. Felt a bit misled in the end.

Apartment has 180+ views and every comfort needed. Is a nice walk from town but taxis are available if needed. Away from crowds but convenient to restaurants

The view is amazing!! I woke up every morning looking at the Matterhorn. It was a pleasure to deal with Peter. He answered any questions I had promptly.

The apartment is very nice. It is long up hill walk from downtown, but well worth it because of the great views. Peter was very easy to work with.
