Welcome to Lake Sometimes Retreat, where adventure meets comfort—with no cleaning fee! Just 5 miles from Summersville Lake and 25 miles from New River Gorge National Park, you’re perfectly located for rock climbing, ATV trails, mountain biking, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The New and Gauley Rivers offer incredible fishing and whitewater. For a scenic trip, Babcock State Park and the famous Glade Creek Grist Mill are just 30 miles away. Inside, you’ll find a full-size kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a full dinner or a quick snack. After a day filled with exploration, rest easy in the king-size bed and savor a beautiful sunset from the covered porch with a warm coffee in hand. When it's time to clean up, enjoy the walk-in shower, then either unwind in the cozy privacy of your studio or join us around the fire pit to end the day under the stars. Lake Sometimes is a charming farmette where Luke, your host, lives on-site and is available if anything comes up. Past guests have loved meeting him, and he’s always happy to share local tips and ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable. Luke will send you a welcome email with all the information you need to easily access your room. The property hosts several units, and there’s ample parking for cars, boats, and even a few RV sites available for mixed-use groups. Guests find access easy, and our location right off Hwy 19 makes it simple to find us without any trouble. Feel free to explore our six peaceful acres and take in the tranquility of Almost Heaven, WV. Almost always available. If you have an urgent need, PLEASE call the number provided in your welcome letter. Where you’ll be Our neighborhood is a peaceful retreat near Hwy 19, offering easy access to nearby adventures. The property itself has some beautiful, unmanicured wetlands—hence the name Lake Sometimes. When it rains, we get a “lake,” adding to the charm! Feel free to roam around and explore. I own most of the surrounding homes and am always working on enhancing the property. You’ll need your own vehicle, as public transportation isn’t available here. With our location just off Hwy 19, getting around is easy, and you’re welcome to join other guests by our shared fire pits for a little camaraderie. The studio is kept cool with new, cold A/C—perfect after a day outdoors! While Luke loves animals, this property is designed for adults and cannot accommodate pets.

Our stay here was phenomenal! Luke was very personable and professional. Our room was so clean and cozy. The porch was perfect for mornings to wake up and drink a cup of coffee and gaze at the mountains. It was close to shopping centers and to beautiful parks. 10/10, we will definitely be back. Thanks for such an amazing stay and honeymoon!

What a lovely cabin which was very convenient to many local attractions. Lucas greets you with a smile and has made the accommodations very rewarding with a big king size bed, nice walk in shower, coffee for your enjoyment and a nice place to cuddle on the front porch and watch the bunnies in the yard. You should have a very enjoyable stay!

Nice quiet area with extra parking room if needed. I rented the place to stay while I was in the area for a hunting trip. Very remote feel, but close enough to all the essentials I would have needed.

We enjoyed are staying there. You can tell the host out a lot of thought and care into the guests experience. The location was at the most 40 minutes from the places we wanted to go, and is a very quiet peaceful area. If we are in WV again we will stay here again

We stayed here over the weekend. The place is perfect for 2 people or a small family. It had everything we needed and it was very clean! The location is perfect and is within 20-30 minutes of everything we planned on doing. The host was awesome and super responsive. We definitely are planning another trip down in the near future.
