Stayed May 7, 2026Great location in Sommerville - very walkable and close to public transportation. Met the very nice owner who lives in the space above. We travel with a small dog so the yard space and walkable neighborhood were perfect. The amount of space was a bonus. The bathroom, kitchen, and living spaces were clean. Because this is a dog friendly place, my only recommendation would be to have a hypoallergenic, waterproof mattress encasing - with a washable mattress pad on top. Our dog is trained to sleep in its portable crate, but the mattress looked stained from prior visitors. We would stay here again - but I'll ask about bedding provided.

Stayed Mar 2, 2026This place is charming, and the location was good for us. We were visiting our daughter who lives near Union Square, and we were able to walk to her place easily. The front room was bright and open, and the bedroom cozy. Loved the blue and white plates we had breakfast on. The mattress was a little saggy in the middle, and the pillows not great for me. You do have to climb into a clawfoot tub to take a shower. We stayed here in early March when it was quite cold outside, and the house stayed nice and warm. Communications with the host were easy, friendly, and direct.

Stayed Mar 30, 2026The home was in a great location for our trip. We found street parking to usually be easy to find. A few things that would be helpful for your stay- it is an older home, so the sound carries very loudly from the upstairs unit, where there are sounds of a happy home (running child, vacuuming, 6-6:30a waking up for the day), so you may want to bring earplugs. A sound machine was supplied, you may want to bring a usb plug for that as well. I was glad we brought an extra blanket, as the comforter for the fold-out had quite a bit of dog hair. If you stay, we recommend the Life Alive Organic Cafe nearby- amazing food!

Stayed Jul 27, 2025Pros: Perfect home for us to stay 4 nights with our Frenchie dog with the small fenced yard to safely and easily let her out. Host Jay responded quickly to every question before our stay. Apartment was clean and check in was easy. Gilman Square T station was about 2 blocks away so getting downtown was easy. All the kitchen equipment you need, and towels and bedding were good quality. Summer temps were in the 90's and the A/C worked great throughout the entire apartment. This rental felt like we LIVED in Boston!Cons: Would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues--10 steep front steps to enter and claw-foot tub would be difficult for some to manage. As stated in other reviews, the upstairs family has 2 young children and their playing and running can be quite noisy at times, but they and the neighborhood are quiet at night. A parking pass was provided, but unfortunately during our stay, construction was being done on the street, so we had to park 2 blocks away.

Stayed May 11, 2025We lived in boston about a decade ago, and rented the floor of a stack house in Belmont. This house in Somerville reminded us so much of our old place! The neighborhood is very walkable, close to restaurants and parks, etc. The Gilman Sq green line stop was two blocks away, which made it very easy to get into the city for sight-seeing.

Stayed Apr 16, 2025My family and I stayed at this wonderful house in Somerville and loved it. Being outside the city of Boston gave us a break from the stimulation of the city, but was only a few minute subway ride when we wanted to enjoy the city. Thanks for a great place!

Stayed Nov 25, 2024This was a great pet friendly place to stay over Thanksgiving weekend. Great location. We did have trouble getting the TV to work. Hopefully it will be resolved. We would absolutely stay again!
