Stayed Jul 1, 2025I wish I would have known this was a shared space with no yard as we traveled with pre-teens. It was a cute space, clean and beautiful neighborhood.

Stayed Jun 24, 2025The location is very good. Great Living Room and Kitchen area. Bedding is good, but bed nearest living room is hard to get out of due to frame size. Very close to Garden of the Gods and other sites. However, this basement needs drawers or shelves to empty suitcases into, there are none. You have to park in the street not in the driveway. Need No Slip strips in Tub and Shower. Small floor elevation changes in hallway and at entry door are challenging for some especially in the middle of the night so watch your step. We heard upstairs tenants late at night and very early in the morning, which woke us up. Hallway shower has low water pressure. No porch or sitting area outside to smoke or just enjoy great Colorado Springs weather.

Stayed May 28, 2025We arrived at this location and followed the instructions for check-in. Unfortunately, the keyless entry wasn’t working. The property manager was lightening quick to call me back as soon as I left a message through the app, but unfortunately to no avail. Their onsite lockbox with the physical key was empty, and their spare key was missing from the management office. It so happens that when the maintenance man was onsite trying to figure a way in (the homeowners were not responding to the property manager’s calls), the door entry started making noise and we were able to get the lock to work one last time. The batteries had died. This whole process had us standing in the rain outside or waiting in our car for over an hour. We also were there during a 2 day storm and the temps were in the 40s and the heat in the property was broken. Apparently, the managers/homeowners were aware of the heat not working but likely elected not to fix it since it was May. The maintenance man brought us 3 space heaters to keep warm. Throughout all of this, I do want to note that the property managers were very quick to respond. It is also important to note that this property is a refurbished basement under the homeowners main residence. The remodel itself is very lovely and fresh, nicely decorated. The only other comment is that the kitchen is dark. There is only one lighting fixture over the island and one light over the sink. Nothing over the stove or undercabinet. If you don’t cook, then no prob.

Stayed May 23, 2025We gave a 3-star rating due to several issues that created avoidable stress during our arrival. Weeks ahead of our reservation, we contacted the host to request early check-in, as our flight would be arriving well before the standard 4 PM check-in time and we didn’t want our family waiting around for hours. In response, we were told that early check-in was available for our reservation and could be secured with an additional fee to ensure the unit would be ready at the agreed-upon time. We paid the fee.Just days before our arrival, however, we followed up to confirm early check-in and were told it wasn't guaranteed because other guests would be checking out that morning, and time was needed to prepare the unit. We were then offered the option to book an extra night at half price to guarantee early access—though this seemed inconsistent given the unit was still occupied. When we raised this concern, we were told they would do their best to honor the early check-in.Fortunately, the unit was ready when we arrived, but the entry keypad was broken during the first few days of our stay, which meant we had to rely on the host to remotely lock and unlock the door each time we came and went. That said, the property itself was very nice. It had clearly been recently renovated and was well maintained. The complimentary snacks and water were thoughtful touches and much appreciated. If not for the check-in confusion and access issues, we would have gladly given a 5-star rating.

Stayed Dec 23, 2024The location and setup of the basement apartment was nice and accommodating for our family. We had noise issues on our 1st and 3rd night. We could hear intense arguing and yelling amongst adults. I reached out to the host about the issue and it stopped, however, it continued a short time later. We could also hear loud noises and stomping coming from above us throughout the night.

Stayed Sep 19, 2024The property was very nice inside. It is obvious a lot of thought went into decorating and amenities offered. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. We did find the description online very misleading when it came to outdoor space. Listing had said there was a patio/balcony. However, there was no outdoor space to sit outside and enjoy the views at all. Which was very disappointing, especially since the windows are all window wells with no outdoor view. We likely would have stayed elsewhere had we known there was no outdoor space to enjoy. My sister and her husband also complained of loud noises each night above their room, which was the bedroom right off the living area. They said it sounded like dogs walking around all night. The other bedrooms were mostly quiet. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the location was very convenient to Pike’s Peak and Garden of Gods If you don’t mind not having outdoor space, or views of the mountains from inside at all, this could be a perfect place.to stay..

Stayed Jun 18, 2024This basement apartment is in a quiet neighborhood and close (within 20 minutes) to everything we had planned (Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and downtown Old Colorado City). There are plenty of windows and you not feel like you are staying in a basement. The homeowners live upstairs and while we could hear them walking around the noise was not unreasonable. We could not find a thermostat so we assume the temperature is regulated by the homeowners, but they kept it cool which was fine by us. Each room does have a mini split installed so you are able to adjust the temperature to suit your needs. We would absolutely stay here again and definitely recommend it if you are staying in the area.
