Stayed Feb 15, 2026My host was a gem! The place was very clean and appointed with cotton bed, linens and towels. It was cozy and comfortable, and felt like a respite from the busy days before. And her husband is quite the artist. The place was decorated with his unique pieces.

Stayed Jan 15, 2026Ashtin and Brian welcomed us warmly, with useful local information. They checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed, and were generous with some longer conversations about their life on the island. They also invited us to a gallery opening for a juried show, where Brian had a painting exhibited, and he shared unexpected, interesting insights about his process. The amenities are also first-rate. The space was spotless and thoughtfully furnished. The only slight drawback was that it's on a main road and there's some traffic noise, especially during drive time, but it quieted down at night and we slept well. We had a private patio overlooking their lovely garden, with table and chairs and a little sofa. The space is decorated with Brian's paintings, and there are games, and also books about the area. Highly recommend.

Stayed Jan 6, 2026The state was very quiet and soothing! Would highly recommend staying here to see the north side of the big island! It was my third trip and I wish I would’ve stayed here before. You are close to food, gas, and other needs. There are three different lookouts over the pacific for wonderful sunset views as well only about 10 to 15 minutes away. Great hosts, will stay here again for sure.

Stayed Dec 28, 2025We stayed here on our final night on the Big Island after a two week trip. We needed to be a reasonable driving distance from the airport but still rural- Hawi fit the bill. We loved this very comfy and cozy little spot.

Stayed Sep 10, 2025We really enjoyed our stay. It is very clean and accommodating. Great location for going all places on the north end of the island and into Kona. Good walking in the neighborhood. Cooler at night and comfortable. It is peaceful, only had some road noise during the day. The hosts were very nice, good communication. They have a dog but we hardly heard it. We didn’t hear any chickens either. Highly recommended.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025We absolutely love this cute upstairs unit with lots of windows and light and had a pleasant stay -- thank you! The owner is very kind and thoughtful, and put everything you need for a comfortable stay including books, chairs and daybed for reading, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, kettle, chopping board and eating utensils. It overlooks treetops out of every direction so the vibe is very chill and peaceful BUT YOU MUST KNOW that the house is located on the road to Hawi so there is traffic sounds throughout the day. Most of the time it's the hum of cars that you tune out but occasionally you get the speeding car and big truck that disrupts the calm. The owner's beautiful artworks adorn the entire apartment which adds to the cottage charm.
