Stayed Mar 24, 2026I stayed here 4 nights with my dog and this place is excellent value for money! Communication with host was prompt and helpful. The place was really cute, a good mix of updated and traditional. It was very clean, well equipped and super convenient for all the restaurants, shops and galleries in downtown Black Mountain. As the hosts mention in the description, this IS an old building and as such, the apartment is not perfect inside and you can sometimes hear neighbors, but the reasonable price reflects this. So if you can roll with a couple of ‘what’s that noise/creak’ and don’t need all brand new and perfect, book this suite and enjoy the area! It’s GREAT!

Stayed Mar 28, 2026We were pleasantly surprised at how big the rooms were. The location was great. Close to everything. And it was nice and quiet. It was nice & clean too. Ned was comfy. It was a good deal for the money. There were a couple of suggestions I made to the owner such as the need for a comfy chair in the livingroom, and the need for a few more hand towels and dish towels in the kitchen and bathroom & maybe a casserole dish and a mixing bowl in the kitchen. Little things. I got a nice response from the owner regarding these suggestions. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Jan 11, 2026It was very neat and cozy. The age of the heat system scared me a little but other than that it was awesome

Stayed Sep 25, 2025The stay was in a great location. The space was very roomy. The shower nozzle was a bit tricky to figure out. The host was responsive. However, when I arrived it was not unwelcoming. The bathroom was not clean. The toilet was brown and hadn't been flushed and there was hair all over the sink. There were spider webs and spiders in the corners so hadn't been dusted recently. There was hair on the coasters and other areas too. It made me feel uncomfortable, like the whole place wasn't very clean. I really wanted to give it another chance and hoped that it was a one time mistake. But the host didn't even try to fix it besides an apology. There were zero efforts into retaining me and could have at the very least offered me a discount on a future booking or the current booking. Very disappointing. I gave an overall four stars but it should probably be less considering cleanliness is one's worst nightmare when staying in a vrbo.

Stayed Aug 8, 2025Unit was more spacious than I thought it would be and was very clean. The unit is on the backside of the house with a small screened in porch. It was quiet and has a parking spot that is practically right by the entrance (which makes it easy to load and unload). The bed was comfortable and the unit was well stocked. Additionally, you can’t beat the location as you are in very close walking distance to the heart of the downtown and only a few miles from the highway. Would stay again.

Stayed Jun 24, 2025Suite 2 was very nice and large space. It was basic...no frills. Great location. Walking distances to downtown Black Mountain. Would have wished i had known that we would not have access to the front porch as some other suites. If we did have access , it was not communicated that I remember. Also would have been nice to have somewhere to hang our clothes up. All in all it was a nice place with a great location. Thanks!
