Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire unit, it is not shared.
There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.
The Neighborhood:
The home rests on a gorgeous tree lined street, a short walk (4 minutes) from the Shaw-Howard University Station, where you have access to the yellow and green lines. There is also a convenient bus (70/79) that can take you directly to the National Mall.
The location is the epicenter of DC’s music and dining scene, always the place to be seen in D.C! Walk up the street and catch a wide range of music shows at the historic Howard Theater, or a few more blocks to the famous “9:30 Club”. A short distance in either direction takes you to the Right Proper Brew Pub, the Shaw Tavern, Bistro Boehm, Shaw Library and a bucketful of coffee houses, fitness centers and “pop-up” eating and entertainment venues.
Getting Around:
No need for a car at this location!
With the Shaw-Howard Metro (Green and Yellow lines) just steps away, you can be at the National Mall, White House, the Capitol, Monuments and Museums, The Wharf or practically any place else in the city in 20/25 minutes or less.
Prefer something more active Most central Washington DC features are all within walking. Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away; they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city, the Potomac Tow Path, the Anacostia Waterfront, and nearby Virginia and Maryland!
Buses also run up and down nearby 7th Street, U Street and Florida Avenue, just a short walk away.
The G2 bus stop is a 4 minute stroll from the home, and can take guests directly to the historic and iconic Georgetown neighborhood.
The 90/96 bus can take you to the super trendy Adams Morgan/Woodley Park neighborhood, where you can enjoy the lively night life & dining scene, and stroll the National Zoo!

Other Things to Note:
We can consider hosting dogs up to 45lbs on a case by case basis. We would insist on a “pet fee” which is 2x the cleaning fee, and ensures a deep clean and that no allergens are left behind.
Dogs haven’t been inside the apartment, but do live upstairs.
We want you to make the most of your stay, so we've partnered with DC’s city tour company See DC Today to help ensure an amazing visit, at the best rate possible! We didn’t spend too much time in the apartment as there was so much for us to do. It was really nice that it was only a 45 minute walk to the National Mall from the apartment and the neighborhood felt really safe to walk in. (Plenty of pride flags, which made me feel safe as someone who is transfeminine.) When we got there we didn’t have our parking permit printed out, luckily there is a library 5 mins away (walking) which was very nice and helped us print it out. We would absolutely stay again in the future!
We did not receive the required check-in information at the time we arrived at the unit. I even contacted the agent before we headed to Washington DC that morning, asking for the keypad number. Luckily we met the owner outside of the rental unit and he let us in. During our stay, the owner was helpful. However, the internet was not working for the first three days. We got a refund for these inconveniences. The place is nice and clean and close to the convention center. We do recommend to stay in this unit.
This place met all our needs for a fantastic first trip to DC. Owners/managers very responsive and helpful. Location is close to Metro station, in a cool little neighborhood with nice cafe's, restaurants, nearby grocery store, even a yoga studio. Apartment is on the small side but well suited for a couple: has everything one might need. Location is especially great for people who like to walk a bit as part of their activities. That said, Uber's/Lyft's were nearby and quick to arrive whenever needed for places Metro didn't reach. Don't miss the Marilyn mural just a few yards up the sidewalk.
I couldnt have asked for a better experience or accommodation! From booking to checkout, the process was easy and stressfree. The house is gorgeous and I fell in love with the neighborhood. We will be back!
