The apartment is situated in a residential area, which allows for quiet sleeping at night, yet offers lots of original shops, bars and restaurants. It’s just a stone’s throw away from major sights like Avenida da Liberdade, Jardim do Torel and more touristic parts of town.
Avenida da Liberdade is a lovely neighbourhood where you can find traditional and luxurious restaurants, trendy and modern boutiques, as well as art galleries. The apartment is at short walking distance to grocery shops and public transport. It is close to touristy areas but tucked away enough from the hustle and bustle and noise of the busy streets.
From the apartment, it's a short walk to the Rossio train station and Baixa. Avenida metro is just around the corner and the city's extensive bus services also serve this main street well, so getting around is easy.
Jardim do Torel, a hidden park with a splendid view and in summer boasting free swimming and a sandy beach, is a 5 minute walk. It's a 10 min walk to Bairro Alto and Principe Real, and some 15 min to the São Jorge Castle and Praça do Comércio.
Bairro Alto is a picturesque old quarter and well known for its bars, restaurants and trendy shops. Principe Real is a gay-friendly area, boasting with antique shops and galleries around the namesake square with an outdoor market offering traditional Portuguese products.
São Jorge Castle is surrounded by traditional Portuguese neighbourhoods and is located on one of the seven hills of Lisbon. From there, you can enjoy the most breathtaking views of the city and the Tagus River.
The apartment location is excellent. The Metro (Avenida station) is just across the street, and at a walking distance there are the Rossio train station bound to the World Heritage village of Sintra and the Cais do Sodré train station bound to the beaches. When arriving from the airport, it is possible to use the Aerobus, Metro (red line to São Sebastião, change to blue line direction Santa Apolónia) or taxi, which costs 20 Euros.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025What a great flat, stay, experience. Everything was as advertised, in fact, even better. Before, during and after was easy, no issues and clearly communicated. We HIGHLY recommend this listing. You will get used to the 67 steps to the flat. It is well worth it.

Stayed Sep 26, 2024We really enjoyed the space; it's in a beautiful old building that has been lovingly restored (entry and hall still in process of renovation). Definitely 4 flights up. The apartment is bright, spacious and very attractively furnished and decorated. The central location put us within easy reach of surrounding neighborhoods.

Stayed Mar 1, 2024We stayed in this lovely apartment for a month. The place is fully renovated, in a generally quiet building. We were in Lisbon during some seriously bad weather, and the apartment became our sanctuary from the wind and rain. The bright and sunny spaces with quality climate control was important. The owners have carefully thought through nearly everything you will need. The kitchen is well equipped, so cooking is a breeze. The bathroom is lovely with seriously hot water. The apartment is wonderfully located within walking distance downtown, the metro and shopping. Beware, the stairs are nontrivial, as the apartment is at the top of the building. But don’t let that stop you!

Stayed Dec 13, 2023I feel like we picked the perfect place to stay in Lisbon! They have thought of everything in this apartment! It's in a great location a short walking distance to so many restaurants and things to see (each day we discovered more and more places to eat literally steps from our door). The apartment itself is decorated in such a way that it's super fun and cozy. The light is great, everything is new and clean and convenient. We didn't do a lot of cooking but the kitchen is well-equipped for *actual* cooking which I always appreciate. It was super easy to communicate with the property manager. There were only two of us staying here -- my son and myself -- but I could see how up to six people could stay really quite comfortably, with two in each of the bedrooms and two on the super fun day bed at one side of the living room. This apartment IS as attractive and clean as it looks online and I will definitely try to stay here again in the future and/or recommend it to friends. You do have to walk up several flights to get to it (around 70 steps, which didn't bother us but might be an issue for some) but as a result you get a top floor place with nice views out the back and great light). My only complaint is that we only stayed for a week rather than a month!

Stayed Oct 11, 2023Beautiful apartment, wonderfully decorated & spacious in a fantastic neighborhood. There's grocery store is right across the street, nice restaurants & shops are all mere steps away. Comfortable cozy couch with plenty of tv entertainment, netflicks, etc. Nuno was an excellent host, always responsive and easy to reach. Note, you definitely need to be in good shape and have good knees to stay here... While the apartment is up 4 floors, there are 8 sets of stairs + and they are about 2 1/2 feet wide. It's a HIKE to get up to the property, so don't bring a lot. Big suitcases do not work here. Note, the hike is worth it when you get to the top! --

Fantastic location, quiet and close to restaurants, shops and transit. Make note it is a 4 floor walkup (no elevator), but easy stairs to negotiate. Highly recommend. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Stayed Sep 25, 2021The charming loft is exactly as advertised-Beautifully decorated, a well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom with powerful shower that never ran out of hot water. My stay lasted 5 weeks and there were no problems at all. Nuno was easy to communicate with and Margarida kindly changed her cleaning schedule to accommodate our groups comings and going’s. At one point our party included 5 adults and the apartment did not feel crowded. Yes, there are stairs but you get used to it if your mobility is ok. The apartment really felt like a home away from home and should I return to Lisbon would certainly want to stay there again. Thank you Nuno !
