Printers Row is a `pocket` neighborhood just minutes from the Chicago Loop. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the area became the Midwest hub of the printing industry with historically significant buildings designed by legendary architects like Daniel Burnham, William Holabird and William Le Baron Jenney. Today, many of those historic buildings remain, but the quiet, tree lined streets are now largely residential. Of course, it continues to be a draw for fans of Chicago architecture.

During the day, the neighborhood is an easy walk to offices in the Loop, off Michigan Avenue, or in LaSalle Street financial centers. After hours the district is alive with restaurants, boutiques, book and antique stores.

It boasts famous blues clubs, electric music venues and neighborhood taverns where residents gather. It also has an annual book fair; The Printers Row Book Fair gathers authors, poets, speakers, and, of course, books.

Printer`s Row is also walking distance to Chicago`s Museum Campus, with the Field Museum, Adler Planetariums and Shedd Aquarium, and the newly redesigned Soldier Field.

With a 97 walk score and 100 transit score, you can get everywhere your heart desires in Chicago. The Red Line subway is one of the main subways in Chicago, and is only a block away. Many restaurants, shopping, parks, and museums are within walking distance.

Stays of 14+ nights require a mandatory mid-stay cleaning, scheduled with the guest in advance. Additional cleaning fees apply.

All guest names and ages must be registered before you are allowed to check in.

Guest Verification
As part of our vetting process, we may ask guests to confirm a few details — such as their names, ages, where they’re traveling from, or their travel plans — before accepting a booking. In some cases, we may also request a valid government-issued ID for verification purposes. This helps us ensure that all stays are safe, transparent, and in line with our house policies.

Unresponsive Guest
In some cases, if a guest does not respond within a reasonable period, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation.
For same-day bookings, this timeframe is up to 2 hours or less. For all other bookings, this timeframe is up to 8 hours. This ensures that we can provide the best experience and availability for all our guests.

Online Check-In & Rental Agreement Required
Before receiving check-in instructions, all primary guests must complete our online check-in form and review/sign our rental agreement. This helps verify guest details and ensures a smooth, secure arrival.

EXTRA GUEST CHARGE
The base price covers 6 guests. For more than 6 guests, there is an extra guest fee of $15 per guest for the full number of nights.
Example: 1 extra guest for a 5-night stay = $15 × 5 nights = $75.

Security Deposit (Families with Young Children)
A security deposit may be required for groups traveling with two or more children under 14 years old, as a precaution against accidental damage and cleaning. The deposit is fully refundable, provided there is no damage to the property after a standard post-checkout inspection.

Refundable Security Deposit: A $300 refundable security deposit is required and will be `held` or `authorized` (not `charged`) by Chicago Hospitality Club on your card. Any property damage or extra charges may be deducted from the deposit. VRBO collects platform payments/charges separately, while Chicago Hospitality Club handles the deposit, so seeing both on your statement is normal. The deposit is automatically released 3-7 days after checkout.

Refund Processing Policy
In the event of a guest-initiated cancellation, any bank fees or payment processing charges incurred will be the responsibility of the guest and will be deducted from the refund amount.

The location and size of this VRBO make it a winner. Our family of five had plenty of room to spread out. The el (metro) is literally around the corner, couldn’t be more convenient. And all the major sights are easily walkable. The hosts were very responsive.

We had an amazing stay! The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and perfect for our trip. The host was outstanding, always quick to respond and very helpful with any questions we had. Their fast communication made everything stress-free, from check-in to check-out. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

Overall, the location was very good. It is a nice property and is very convenient to all of the sites we visited. The building is older and the property has been somewhat updated. There are signs that it has been used as rental, however. The carpet has stains and there are areas where the paint is peeling. There are no outlets in the bathroom. The building was not always locked but felt safe. Photos show some of the prior damage and highlight the cosmetic issues. The space was great for our group, but the building is not wheelchair friendly which made it more difficult. Overall, we were pleased with the space and would stay again.

We stayed at this property during the Chicago open archery tournament at Navy pier. Even though it was a 20-minute bus ride to the archery tournament each day, we appreciated the space of the apartment and the quietness of the neighborhood. It is right by a subway stop, train station, and several bus stops. The owners communicated with us regularly, and we were very pleased with the accommodations. Would not only recommend this apartment, but anticipate staying here again!

We stayed here while we were in town for a trade show at the McCormack center. With the easy train access and comfy accommodations this place was perfect for our small group.

Easy access to the train, shopping and food. Only struggle we had was only one person could open the door due to the lock/key phone app. We needed two keys. I tried to contact the owner several times but they claimed VRBO blocked our ability to share contact information. I would have thought they had my phone number. There should be a better plan for communication if using the app. My family was locked out of the house the entire day that I was in meetings. I also found it strange that the owner knew we were not taking our shoes off upon entry. We had no problem complying with their request that came after we entered the home the second time. However, this made me feel like there were cameras inside. I would also suggest changing the shower head. I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I had a hard time rinsing my hair due to low pressure. Central air and individual room air conditioners kept us cool. Kitchen is very nice.

We went to Chicago for a long weekend and randomly chose this location. It was very centrally located for our needs and super close to a subway station. Very close to restaurants also (check out Sofi restaurant for great Italian food). The hosts were very communicative and accommodating. Great experience.

Everything was fine especially for the price. It is in a “vintage” building, like the description says but there were 6 of us and for the price, we could not have gotten a hotel room with as much space for the kids to be and as close to everything that we wanted to do while in Chicago. I was not familiar with the “LATCH” app so check-in was a little rocky but once we figured it out, we were fine. The apartment was clean and very spacious for the price and it was in a neighborhood where we walked to many good restaurants to eat and once we walked down and got pizza and brought back to the apartment. All in all, it was a good place to stay. Thank you Hosts!!!!
