Spacious character suite! Close to local private schools, dining and more!

We had a great stay and would definitely go back. Our host was wonderful to connect with, and very quick to respond to any questions we had. The beds were very comfortable and everything was just as it appears in the description and pictures. Right in the village of Shawnigan Lake which was very convenient. The place for my wife and I was what we were looking for. Listing was accurate. Location was great. General store,some restaurants which were good and the lake just a short walk away. Highly recommended.

The description and pictures of this place are very accurate. It is quite spacious, even for 4 people and a dog. Everything was clean and well supplied. The garden area is actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be and very beautiful. We loved it and our dog had lots of space to burn off energy. Gay was very welcoming and kind. We would definitely come back.

Perfect location next to coffee/ bakery with quick access to lake. A great spot to access local Kinsol Trestle/Cowichan Valley trail, Malahat skywalk, and kayak rentals.

Gay is a lovely lady and we had a great stay.

My husband and I stayed for the weekend to watch our son row for Brentwood at their annual Regatta. It was a very pleasant stay. Close to stores and walking trails. Our dog enjoyed himself too. Gay was very welcoming.

The access was slightly challenging due to the pouring rain, but what a lovely surprise when we got inside the suite. It is bright and has been beautifully renovated with amazing artwork. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Everything I needed on a rainy weekend to stay in and work on a writing project. Very comfortable space and a kitchen with all supplies. Great coffee store and bakery right next door too.

This is a very sweet place with plenty of room. Bed was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Fireplace, heat pump and separate heater kept the place warm. The snow was beautiful! The hosts were friendly, helpful and super attentive to whatever we needed. Lovely place for a getaway.

The host and property are amazing. We will definitely be back and will be looking to rebook at this same property.

The wise place is a great place to stay great walking/running trails near by Shawnigan Lake grocery and great restaurants are all in walking distance. Inside the home was well layout and stocked with the basics. Our daughter was able to join us for a couple days and slept on the pull out couch and was amazed at how comfortable it was (the best she has had) master bed was very comfortable. Our dog loved the outdoor space completely fenced so she was able to run around freely. We will definitely stay at the Wise place again Thank you Gay and Megan for being great hosts

Great location in a great little village. The bakery and coffee shop next door were amazing! Gay was fantastic and very welcoming.

We stayed for a weekend discovering Shawnigan lake. The location was right at the forks of lots of dining options which we enjoyed. The suite had a lovely garden to relax and enjoy and a comfortable living room with its view.

While we only stayed one night, it was lovely. After a tiring day of a kayak course, to relax, walk to a good Thai restaurant was perfect

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The property is very cozy. Everything we needed was easily available. Location is in the heart of Shawnigan Lake making it a quick walk to anywhere you may need to go. The garden is stunning! Communication with the property owner(s) was great. My only complaint would be the location of the skylight above the sofa bed. Highly recommend

Nice nice n excellent coffee next door

The pics are quite deceiving. This is a basement suite in an old building. The ceilings are all 6.5 ft, except in the small vaulted add-on room that is featured in the pics. The beam through the shower (in the pics) is at about 5'8, so I had to duck. They tried to dress it up. It is very well appointed, given the space, but as it is an old building, with creaky floors, so you hear the people above way too loudly. When we arrived the key was not in the lock box, but by pure fluke the owner was there to let us in. It would have been a big hassle otherwise. The TV password was wrong on the instructions, and we didn't get the correct one until late on the last night of our stay. We messaged the owner on night 1, but she says she didn't receive it. Also, the VRBO map makes the location look way better than it is. It is not by the park, facing the water, but instead on the other side of the center of town. It's only a quarter mile difference, but it's a big quarter mile!
