Transportation:

If you take the bus from the airport to our Hacienda (Betty’s place) follow these easy steps:
1. After passing through customs ignore all of the “information” or taxi people.
2. Hit up the ATM that dispenses pesos (some just give US dollars) to have money for the bus. Just get the minimum now, as the exchange rate unfortunately it floats as we speak, best place to exchange is the bank ATMs in town and most places take dollars or credit cards anyway.
3. Take the escalator upstairs to the level where you check into the flights.
4. Exit on the far right door as you are looking out. Door #4.
5. Wait with the group of locals that are about 50 feet to the right of the door. I don’t remember any sort of bus stop sign.
6. When the purple and orange Ruta del Desierto bus comes, go in the front door and tell the bus driver that you are going to the Santa Carmela Market (“Mercado Santa Carmela”). Pay 80 pesos ($4) per person. They give change.
7. It will take about an hour. You will stop at lots of local stops as you head south through San Jose del Cabo first.
8. Once out of town it turns into a 4 lane highway and quickly heads west towards Cabo San Lucas. Just keep an eye out for the Santa Carmela Market after a few stops on the highway, but the driver will probably tell you when you get there. Just remind him if you get worried.
It’s a easy downhill 5 minute walk to the house.
9. If you see the Home Depot on the right, you went too far past the market. Just get off, cross the highway and go one stop back to Santa Carmela. It is super easy, fun and safe, to be with locals, so don’t worry and have fun!
You will enjoy not having a car.”
10. If you prefer to have a car, make sure your car rental agency, gives you a written insurance coverage in México.

Host Betty is the best. She left daily snacks, set a nice table setting on balcony. Room was large. Bring your Netflick and Prime log in info for TV. Refrig, towels, and coffee pot/coffee, no washing mach. Issues-limited hot water and most of the water went down drain due to diverter. No freezer/ice, sheer curtains, hard bed, shower door scratch tile, no oceanviews from room, 800 steps down/up to club house reserved/closed 2 out of the 4 days. Room $ was ok but next trip will pay more for ocean view/access. Transport-$4 purple bus airportSanta Carmelia. Have to cross busy highway from market to gate. Pack lite as bus has limited space for luggage, walking on cobble stone sidewalks and crossing busy highway. Take white bus $2 to take bus to Cabo San Lucus Marina, Costco painted on window-walked across the highway in front of the market. Take purple bus $2 to San Jose to see the Thursday art show-walked to the Bus stop to the right in front of the Toro resturant as the bus would not pull in to the frontage road in time for the bus stop on the left. Food-Large Freskos market across the highway to the left about 10 min walk. On the same side side of the highway to the left resturant Villa Serrano had great sunset view of the Marina and cruise ships. $70 for 2 dinners, guac and 1 drink. To the right out the gate to next hotel went to Huts resturant on the cliffs $80 for fautas, guac and 1 beer (to pricey). Marina-Campestre $27 great. San Jose-Abby $20 great

Sol Studio had a lot of bonus amenities. There is a full length mirror, makeup mirror, purified water, and some thoughtful items in the fridge. There is also a small electric grill that came in handy. TV worked great. We went in January and wished we had taken binoculars to watch the whales from the Clubhouse. We enjoyed a peaceful evening sitting by the gas fire-pit there also. We ate a couple yummy lunches while we were riding the bicycles provided at the unit upon request. One was at La Taquiza Tezal right across the freeway from Costco. Easy to find. Also, at Higos y Olivos (Figs and Olives) delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner and outdoor oven baked pizza in the afternoon. We had a great time on the bikes, one of our favorite pastimes and an unexpected delight at Sol Studio. We rode down to Medano beach in Cabo a couple times. Be careful, some of the sidewalks outside of the community are pretty rough. Communication with the host is prompt and very helpful. We loved getting acquainted with the bus transportation and Betty gave great directions. One thing to note if you decide to skip the car rental and take the bus from the airport is that the bus stop is to the left outside the terminal doors, not to the right. The local Cabo bus stops right in front of the gated Community and then heads back into town. The airport bus back to San Jose del Cabo also stops right there too. Very convenient. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Location was nice, room was filthy upon arrival..no water and we were asked to stay and meet the plumber? ..on our vacay? No coffee pot, when we got one it was hotel size, no silverware, no extra tp, the towels were ripped, stained and horrible. The 2 good ones were beach towels.

We were in need of somewhere with sun, waves, and privacy. Betty's property was safe, reserved, and oh so quiet. We slowed down and soaked in the sun and blue skies to our heart's content. Sonce we weren't sightseeing, a car wasn't necessary, and for minor excursions, walking or Uber was simple. Betty is delightful, warm, generous, and available to ensure we had everything we needed. The only sad part of the experience is having to write the review, which means our adventure is at an end.

Hola Betty, You were an amazing hostess. Your condo was very comfortable. Little details, fridge and microwave made snacks easy. The pool and clubhouse were the perfect place to relax and read a book. The sunsets were spectacular. You were helpful suggesting restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious steak and lobster dinner at Villa Serena and an amazing dinner at The Italian job. We also had taco dinner and lunch, I forgot names but they were family run local places. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. Much thanks and love to you and Siri. Glen and Rosemarie

A charming studio nested in the Santa Carmela community is a perfect private getaway for two. It's location is close to beaches, stores, restaurants and Cabo San Lucas. Betty the owner provides a Mexican setting that is warm and welcoming. We enjoyed staying there and would rent Sol Studio on our next vacation to Cabo. Thank You G. Mejia
