This is where you can experience true “off the grid” vacationing. You are truly in authentic, beautiful, northern Idaho where the scenery is unbeatable and there is no one nearby for miles. The property is self sufficient. This is the answer for a rustic, restful, scenic stay off the beaten path. We will return again.

The owners provided EVERYTHING from soup, bottled water, laundry detergent. The cabin was so cute and efficient. Very comfortable. AND did I say CUTE? If you can count all the bears in the cabin...you could win $10.00 off your stay. We were close. Super CLEAN and quiet. It was my favorite place of our trip.

Host was there to greet us when we arrived and to show us around. She was extremely thoughtful about our birthday and even put up a sign and got us dessert. The views were spectacular, the beds were comfy, the place was immaculately clean and the bird sounds (even a nighthawk!!!) and seeing wild turkeys was wonderful. I would also recommend not turning the additional space into a hunting lodge, as our wildlife are already in peril.

Lovely home with all the amenities you could want. Beautifully thought out decor, spotless, comfy beds, and a stunning view off the balcony. The home owners were so welcoming and responsive! It really is off the main road. We arrived after dark, but the directions provided by home owners and signage in place made it very easy to find the property in the dark.1 hour away from Kootenai Falls and Suspension Brisge that we highly recommend!

The place has every amenity you could think of. You can tell a lot of love and care goes into the place. Everything very clean. Beds comfortable we all slept very well. Fans and AC are great for sleeping too :) loved drinking coffee on the swing on the front balcony. The views are breathtaking. It’s a few miles up a dirt/gravel road off the 95 but I thought it was well worth the drive.

Exactly what we were looking for. A quiet location to get away. The hosts were awesome, made sure we had everything we needed. The house was more than we expected. It had such a homey feel. The kitchen had everything you need and more. Great deck with a great view. If ever in the area again will definitely be back.

My family stayed here on the way to Canada. Jim and Juanita are the perfect hosts! Directions to the house were easy to follow, and Jim met us when we pulled in. He showed us around the space, and let us know there was some complimentary snacks and food. The beds were comfortable and everything is very clean. Definitely a more fun and enjoyable experience than staying at a hotel! Be sure to do the bear scavenger hunt game that Juanita put together and see if you can count all the bears!

We were only around for a quick overnight stop on our way from Spokane to Glacier, but this was a pleasant stop that we would totally do again when we have more time. The hosts thought of so many little details to make us feel welcome in this beautiful, off-grid property. Comfortable beds and cozy surroundings in this quaint spot made for a nice stopover.

Stayed at the Sleepy Bear Lodge with my wife and daughter during a heat wave. Each day was over 100 degrees F and that pretty much put a damper on our outdoor plans to hike and horseback ride. BUT we enjoyed a very comfortable stay and essentially remained lazy (which is probably what we needed). We would highly recommend this lodge for those who are more in tune with a semi-wilderness vacation than being pampered in a luxery hotel somewhere. The view north from the deck is absolutely breathtaking. Spent many hours outside there in the cool of the evenings. Adding this to our top locations and memories we have experienced!
