Stayed Nov 13, 2025This may be the nicest apartment rental ever. I wish the owners would sell it to me! The rooms are spacious and extremely well finished. The kitchen was very well outfitted, and we took full advantage. Bathrooms were nicely finished as well, and the showers were very nice. There’s a ton of storage space everywhere. The location was perfect - close to most sights, restaurants, shopping, etc. but also quiet. On the first floor as advertised, but the stairs were very manageable. We loved it and hope to return soon. Reception room furniture could be more comfortable and easier for old knees to get up from!

Stayed Oct 13, 2025The apartment is very well located and comfortable inside. Everything is close by, although it takes a while to get your bearings and find the most straightforward routes, as the myriad of streets can be confusing, even with a map! The walk around the walls is fabulous, we found it useful to do this first in order to see where everything is located and discovered a couple of restaurants we would otherwise never had seen. There is also a good transport network so you can get to Pisa & Florence easily by train and the fares are very reasonable, especially compared to UK. Viareggio is also worth a visit and is only a short train ride away. The only negative feedback I would give is that taxis are limited and the information pack in the property needs updating. They list a gelatiera set in a courtyard with antiques which is now a handbag shop and has not been there for 5 years! We had a fabulous week and would highly recommend, the weather was glorious which helped to make it so enjoyable.

Stayed Aug 9, 2025Great apartment. I had a problem with getting the air-conditioner to work - and Christina was on it immediately. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you - I'll definitely be returning.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My wife and I stayed at Gimber Tales apartment for a month from the middle of September to the middle of October. We found the apartment to be well equipped and convenient to use as a base to explore Lucca. When we arrived on the weekend of The Luminaria of Santa Croce. The city was abuzz with visitors. The apartment was very noisy during the festival. As soon as the festival was over the crowds left and the noise level returned to normal. One of the nice features about the apartment is the limited number of stairs. if you have older knees you will appreciate that it is only one floor up. The kitchen was equipped well enough to cook you own meals if you so chose. The bedrooms and baths were spacious and had plenty of storage. I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to the staff at Lucca Apt and Villa. Our apartment manager Christina and her co workers went above and beyond to assist us in a matter of recovering a purse that was left on a train. I can't thank them enough Small matters only that could be improved on. This only pertains to longer stays, a few more kitchen utensils like a whisk and more silverware. There are so many food shops nearby to buy fresh fruit and vegetables as well as meats and cheese, it makes you want to cook.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Beautiful apartment inside the city walls, in walking distance of many lovely restaurants. The apartment is exactly as great as it looks in the pictures, is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Lucca Apartments and Villas were fabulous to deal with. Great communication and we received a lovely, warm welcome from Cristina. Highly recommend. Absolutely nothing! It was perfect.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We (two couples) have just spent a month at Gimber Tales and I can honestly say it was faultless. The professionalism from point of booking through to departure was outstanding. The apartment was perfect, large, comfortable and with everything you need to prepare a meal or minutes walk to restaurants and bars to dine out. The location is ideal, out of the tourist pathways and consequent noise, and with easy access to an entrance onto the wall for morning strolls. Washing machine is ideal for longer stays, beds are very comfortable, linen is high quality and the showers are the best we’ve experienced in Italy. It’s our second rental through Lucca Appartments and Villas and we’re looking forward to our third! The apartment could do with a broom rather than the vacuum that is there as there is little it no carpet and it is very cumbersome otherwise the apartment was perfect. Thank you again!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969You feel like a local living here all the amenities of home (including a washer/dryer). Close to everything including small local markets. The folks managing the apartment were very helpful and responsive. Instructions for the washer/dryer!

Stayed Aug 4, 2023This two bedroom/two bathroom apartment was very spacious with lots of storage and amenities. Having a washer/dryer was a plus for our month long stay. The location to the “wall” was excellent as well as all the restaurants, cafes, and shopping. The kitchen had very nice assortment of pots, pans, and utensils. The entrance off the street is secure and there’s just one flight of stairs to apt. The response from the manager when we needed anything was very good. Thank goodness, because we had trouble figuring out how to operate the washer/dryer and the stove top. Five days into our stay we found all the manuals for their appliances in a binder hidden on a high shelf cabinet! We wish this had been given to us on day one. The living room’s tv remote needed a new cable. They purchased one. The bedroom tv wasn’t working correctly, they had to fix it. By week two Lucca and the rest of Italy was in a heat wave and the apartment’s A/C stopped working! It took several visits and many stifling hot days by the management company, then an electrician, and finally the Mitsubishi technician to fix the problem. We were very frustrated and hot. It was impossible to sleep for a few nights. We asked for a small reimbursement-that didn’t happen. We think the check in process should’ve been more informative. We believe that everything should be in working order before we arrive at a rental property. We didn’t enjoy taking time away from our vacation to sort things out.
