Last minute booking, Vrbo had not contacted the host. He showed up 2 minutes after I called to open up and made sure everything was perfect.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We came up from Fort Lauderdale, FL for my brother’s wedding. My nephew and husband enjoyed fishing off the deck. They both caught bass! The fire pit was lovely and very quiet surroundings. The owner was very kind and helpful. We had everything we needed. The only complaint we had is the toilet was loose from the wall. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. It was clean and pretty much fit the description perfectly. It was very quiet and peaceful and we really loved the kayaks and fishing.

Stepping into this fishing cottage felt like a blast from the past. It had all the right rustic amenities for a week away from the city: full kitchen, screened in-porch, outdoor patio, kayaks and fire-pit. But like, amenities from the year 1990, which was much appreciated, actually. Nice to step back into simpler days with a selection of DVDs and VHS tapes (for spotty wifi service), board games, and multiple stereos for radio listening over breakfast. Lots of little nooks and crannies to read in and am amazing lake to swim in nearby. If you are sensitive to heat, know that the property is cooled by windows and fans. The septic has improved and water seemed fine to us but the toilet still hilariously clinks when used, just know that it is close quarters is all! Make sure to check out Tooky's Tavern nearby.

Cozy, humble little place. Great for someone who wants to get away from it all. Still close enough to city life and great historical sights. Loved just sitting and watching the water go by.

The cabin is in a nice location on the river with access to the lake, and the owner is kind enough to lend use of his boats. The outdoors is nice and the stairs would not be an issue for majority of people. The cabin however is extremely rustic with normal shifting of old homes. This floor shifting however caused the toilet to shift and bang as the user gets on and off. It makes an impressive banging in the middle of the night and wakes both user and other sleepers. The water is an issue as well, and appears suspiciously similar to the river water. The water in both the shower and the kitchen did not go down the drain so when showering, you are standing in brown water. When washing dishes, they end up also sitting in dirty brown water. For obvious reasons, this is not mentioned in the listing. You are provided with access to clean water by way of a 'water tank', but it resolved only access to drinking water/cooking. The rating on cleanliness is partially due to these issues, because you get the overall feeling like you as a person don't get clean in the shower, and it crosses your mind the dishes aren't really clean at all. This makes meals very unappealing. Between the two it left my family feeling 'grossed out'. For the price to rent, I do not feel these issues are fair and should be clearly noted. The gentleman renting the cabin is very responsive, and in all fairness these issues were not addressed directly with him. Another issue raised by my husband is that the owner is directly next door, and while this does make him available, it was extremely awkward.

Enjoyed the tranquil area of the lake with easy access. to main body of water. Husband enjoyed the fishing off the dock and in the canoe.

We chose this cabin for the location, which was absolutely perfect for us! We were able to mountain bike and hike on a trail system accessed from right across the road. The kayaking was exceptionally beautiful on the river side of the property. We also enjoyed our outdoor dinners in front of the fire pit overlooking the water, which was a huge bonus. The host, Tom, is a super nice guy and gave us great tips about where to go on our adventures during our stay.

My family (two adults, two kids under 6) had a wonderful time at this rustic waterfront cabin. We fished off the docks, went on so many kayak and paddle boat rides, enjoyed the beautiful views of the wooded banks across the way, and stargazed at night (we saw the Milky Way!). And when an unexpected problem arose with the water pressure, the owner swooped in and fixed it in record time! He also went above and beyond to ensure it didn’t impact our vacation. If you are looking for an escape to nature, but with all the fun of lake life, book this place! We will be back!!
