Sangerville, Maine
A quiet country setting 30 minutes from 100 mile wilderness trailhead on the Appalachian trail and Moosehead lake region. Wildlife can be spotted from the apartment in the back field and woods. Coffee shops and restaurants within 15 minute drive. Cozy, comfortable apartment to kick back and enjoy. State Parks include Peakes Kenny and Lily Bay in the area or a boat ride to an island in the middle of Moosehead lake with hiking trails and awesome history. 2 hour drive to Acadia National Park.
This is an old house we aquired. We have been upgrading and adding to it as we go along. The front steps are very sturdy but may be steeper than some folks are accustomed to. There was a mention of that after 2 years. We have plans to upgrade the entry in the near future. We work hard to provide a most satisfactory stay and hope to reflect that in reviews. We live on the property if anything is not right we would like to correct any issues. Please enjoy your stay.
The owners were comunicative and open with us. Stay was clean and kind. Great time!
This was a beautiful area and cozy apartment! There was a good selection of kitchen equipment. The laundry facilties were very convenient. Ruth was friendly and quick to communicate. We would definitely return!
Overall everything was as advertised, except for the driveway. We arrived after dark in the rain & the driveway was very steep & hard to see. There needed to be some kind of lights! I also would not attempt this driveway in the winter.
The host has thought of everything you may need for a stay (except your clothes and food) and has provided it :-)
I stayed here at Ruth's VRBO for almost 4 months with my two dogs through the better part of a winter. It was always warm and cozy and the driveway maintained so I could get to work. It was quiet and functional. It was a badly needed harbor in the storm while I waited for my new house to be habitable.
I had a long stay (several months) and they were consistently attentive to my needs. I was so fortunate to have found such great people, location and place for my dogs during my home renovations.
Had an extended stay waiting for my property to be finished. Friendly and accommodating host (Ruth). Thank Goodness for dog friendly VRBOs!
I stayed here for 3 months while my house was being built. I welcomed the dog friendly stay and accommodating hostess, Ruth and her family. It was just right for me and my two poodles. I really enjoyed having the washer and dryer and fully stocked kitchen. Also the location between Dover-Foxcroft and Greenville was ideal. Ruth and her family kept the snow plowed and driveway cleared with every storm. I am eternally grateful to have found reasonably priced accommodations that accepted dogs fir my long term stay. Thank you!
We had a very enjoyable stay at Ruth’s place. She communicated very well and made sure we had everything we needed. Only complaints was that there was broken glass at the back of the property by the trail and there was a bandaid stuck to a blanket. If you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood and very friendly/dog friendly hosts, this is the place to book!
Thank you for providing a clean, safe place for me to stay while fishing in the area. You have everything I need and are always ready to help. I look forward to coming back.
Ruth is an excellent host. Good location for us. Property was very clean and had everything you should need.
Traveled to Maine for a friend’s wedding at Timberhitch. This place was great for myself, my fiancé, and our two dogs. Clean and plenty of room for all of us. Thank you!
Easy access and quit location.
This inexpensive little property is all you need for a couple visiting the area. It has safe off street parking, attentive hosts, and a great location. Ruth and Jodie are super friendly and welcoming. Overall it was a great place to make some food, relax and crash out.
Ruth is the perfect host. She answered my questions in a timely manner and was waiting outside when I arrived. The apartment was spotless and has everything you need. I was in the area to do some fishing and just needed a place to sleep and safely park my boat. This place is perfect for that. Plenty of room to park, it’s a quiet neighborhood and Ruth has a camera pointed at the driveway just in case. I was very comfortable there and I look forward to returning.
The property is all we expected it to be. Was a friendly atmosphere and enjoyed our stay very much!
The property makes you feel like it's home. It is quiet, clean, and very relaxing. We really hated leaving.
Very clean linen and comfortable bed and furniture. Easy check in and very quiet neighborhood. Beautiful paths made in the back. Thank you so much
Had everything you could ever hope for as your base to explore Maine. Comfortable, quiet and with every home appliance you could wish for. Grocery store nearby for all your essentials and plenty of opportunity to order in from nearby eateries if you so wished. Ruth, the owner, was always on hand if you needed anything but far enough away that you didn't feel as though you were being shadowed all the time. And did I mention the quiet? No noisy neighbors or traffic to worry you. Just sitting on the back steps of a morning, coffee in hand and just breathe in the morning. I'd definitely be back again if I had the chance.
Our rental was clean and quiet, with easy access to all that the surrounding area had to offer. Ruth was very attentive to our needs, and was very friendly and courteous. Everything we needed to cook and eat our own meals on site was wonderful and super convenient. This rental is a great deal! I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a home base for experiencing this region!
