Summary:
“I thought about changing this whole thing to just read: Napoleon slept here. Room T is kind of like the little spoon of The Dutra. Or maybe like a precious package tucked under the building’s right arm

But no, despite popular opinion, the T doesn’t stand for tiny. Room T is big enough for your wildest ambitions and your coffee in the morning. There’s approximately 1,000 cupboards here—all presumably concealing tiny French dictators or perhaps, hidden treasures. From time to time, I like to leave a little something in there for our guests to discover. It feels right for this room.”

What you’ll find in Room T:
–A welcome drink on us
–The Malin & Goetz products we have at home
–Chemex and local beans from Dark Horse Coffee Roasters
–Two-top stove with small kitchenette and breakfast area
–Lofted Tuft & Needle bed with Parachute linens
–Private patio on the backside of The Dutra
–$20/night parking available behind the building by request

The Space:
Two Quirks to Note:
-Room T is up four narrow flights of outdoor stairs
-The bed is lofted, so you’ll need to use the steps provided to access it

The Neighborhood:
If you’re still deciding where to stay, allow us to advocate for Little Italy. Locals like us know that Little Italy is bar and restaurant central: where to go if you want a well-made tiki drink or a fancy steak dinner in San Diego.

It’s also centrally located within the city: just a 5min drive from the airport and a 10min drive to Balboa Park, Gaslamp, North Park, Hillcrest, and beaches.

Getting Around:
The Dutra is conveniently located in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood. The area is extremely walkable (and bikeable) — and you’ll be just a few blocks away from the some of the best restaurants in the city & a few blocks away from the gorgeous San Diego bay front.

Other Things to Note:
This is no smoking and no pets allowed at this property (inside & on patios), and is not a location for hosting large groups/parties. All photo and film shoots must be approved in advance and there may be an additional location fee. There will be a $500 extra cleaning fee for smoking or bringing pets. There is another private AirBNB unit directly above this unit, so please only use your designated deck. As with all AirBNB properties, please treat our space as you would your own & respect the neighbors.

Interaction with Guests:
We live next door, and are available anytime during your stay. Our goal is to make sure you have a wonderful stay in San Diego.

This is a very cool space. It's well designed and inviting. It has great touches to make you feel at home. I was ready to move in and I would stay there again.

Easy access once we realized entrance was in back of building. Stairs were a lot but doable once luggage was up. Location is perfect to go to many areas easily. Only complaint was towels, only received two and was there for 4 nights and coffee feature was great but nothing to add to coffee, sugar, creamer, etc. Enjoyed our stay despite Hurricane Hillary?

I loved my stay in Room T! Carolina was very helpful with anything I needed. The room and patio make for a lovely, relaxing place to stay. I was in town for a conference and loved my little home away from home.
