Welcome to this 1918 built Cape Cod old house in edgy East Durham, we are in a residential neighborhood a short 7 minutes east of downtown Durham!

The interior and furnishing are updated and modern. The entire space was renovated within the past couple years. Newer appliances, granite countertops, hardwood floors throughout. Washer/dryer included in unit!

While we are not likely to be onsite to welcome you or during your stay, we are easily accessible and timely in responding via the booking platform website/apps between 6am to 9pm EST. We can also be reached via text message or phone call in the event of an emergency. Our phone number will be provided prior to check in.

This big prairie cape cod house is located 7 min away from downtown Durham in east Durham, on the edge of Old East Durham.

Durham is a diverse and ever changing city. If this is your first time to Durham, please be aware that you will see people of all walks of life. There are many renovated homes nearby and you will find most local residents to be friendly. Please be courteous and respectful to all neighbors.


Please park on Southgate Street in front of the home (either side of the street is fine but stay at least 15 feet back from the intersection)

Please enter the first time up the front steps and use the door on the right (unit B).

The door uses the August Home smart lock and can be accessed by sending us your cellphone information prior to check in. Once you provide your cellphone and we add your number, you will receive a text message with additional instructions on how to download the app. Upon arrival to the front door, simply open the August Home app and press the circle to unlock the front door (the phone will sense the door lock via Bluetooth). We will also send you a unique pin pad code either as a backup or for primary use if you prefer not to download the door lock app.

In the event that technology fails, we have a backup lockbox hidden on site for emergency access.

Please note there are steps up the front porch to enter the house. Once inside, everything is on a single level. There are security cameras on the front porch.



Modern, bright and beautiful. This space has been completely renovated, it has tall ceilings, big windows and beautiful farmhouse finishes, brand new kitchen and island. Glass shower. Washer and Dryer at your disposal. Over 1000 SF for a 2 bedroom.

This space is the right side of a duplex separated by a center wall and accessed via a private entrance. The entire space is yours and no interior spaces are shared.

Once inside, the property opens to a living room with a couch and two chairs, coffee table and smart tv where you can access your streaming services.

Continuing down the hallway, you will find the first bedroom (queen bed) and then the kitchen. The kitchen has island seating, newer stainless steel appliances and basic pots, pans, cutlery, etc.

The second and larger of the two bedrooms is located off the right of the kitchen. This room contains a king bed and access to the master bathroom (shower). The bathroom is also accessible off of the kitchen for occupants of the front bedroom.

At the rear of the house. you will find a laundry area equipped with a washing machine and dryer.


There's lots of parking on the street, in front the unit and across the street.

Downtown Durham is 7 minutes drive away
Duke is 10 minutes drive away
RTP is 15 minutes drive away
RDU airport 18 minutes drive away

There are plenty of Bike Share options available, you can pick them up from downtown Durham, or just around the neighborhood. There's Off, Spin and Limebike and at $1 for 30 minutes

Lyft and Uber is also available in the city.

To ensure transparency and clear expectations up front, please note the following for all of our properties:

- We are pet friendly BUT all of our guests do not have pets or appreciate pet hair. Therefore, we charge an extra $57 pet cleaning fee that is passed on entirely to our cleaning crew. This ensures that they spend the extra time removing any pet hair from linens and towels, spend extra time cleaning baseboard trim, wiping fan blades, cleaning HVAC filters, etc. If you do not select Add Pet when booking and you stay with a pet, the $57 cleaning fee will be requested from you at checkout. Please select Add Pet in your initial booking to avoid this interaction.

- We absolutely prohibit any and all smoking and drug use at our properties. This behavior makes it extremely difficult to turnover the unit for a new guest likely arriving the same day of your departure. If we find that you have smoked in our property, there will be an extra $200 cleaning fee, you will receive a negative review, and you will not be able to book at our properties in the future. This is a non-negotiable. Do not book if you plan to smoke.

- No parties allowed or loud music after 8pm. Many of our properties are connected duplexes and out of courtesy for neighbors, we ask that there be no gatherings or loud music or unauthorized guests not listed on the reservation. If family or friends are stopping by, please kindly let us know ahead of time .

    It wasn’t r and clean and the beds were comfortable. I had a difficult time getting to the location, but Brian was quite helpful and made sure I got to where I needed to be.

    I really appreciate that the space was simple and clean. The location has easy access to freeways. We loved the Museum of Life Science, it was 11 minutes away and a great way to spend time with kids.

    The house suited exaclty what was needed for the weekend. The kitchen was nicely stocked for agood home cooked meal. The neighbors were close by but it still felt like our own space.

    Nice kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean. Not the best location, one bedroom faces the house next door about 20 ft away.

    A couple of things, upon initially entry, the wall mounted TV was noticeably crooked/slanted. We sat and watched TV one of our nights there and it was distracting. Nowhere to put luggage other than floor or bed or funiture. It would be nice to have a luggage rack. The toilet appeared to be a little low. Although it may be normal height, maybe some thing a little higher for elderly and handicapped may be more practical. For someone dealing with a lower back injury, it was not easy to get on and off. Also, I know very little could be done, but the whole unit appeared to be on a slight slant. So much so that the shower door would not stay closed, it slid open. Other than that for the 2 days there, it was a comfortable stay.

    THE SPACE: My wife and I (and our 2 large dogs) were visiting family in Durham for the holidays and we couldn't be happier with this space. The inside of the property is a lot bigger than we expected and the beds were comfortable. Everything was thoroughly cleaned. The washer+dryer was an amazing addition though, as it allowed us to pack lighter since we were able to wash our clothes. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: It's in a residential neighborhood and it was great for going on walks with our dogs. Plenty of places to walk, felt safe, and people were friendly. Downtown Durham was less than a 10 minute drive away, so we could grab breakfast/lunch at any of the numerous restaurants and just explore downtown when we could. SUMMARY: All in all I highly recommend this stay. We'll definitely be using them again if they're available.
