Private Upper Room w/large soaking tub/shower, view of 7 Sisters Mountains!

If you’re looking for a nice place to sleep in Black Mountain this is a great option. It has a good size bedroom and nice bath with shower and soaker tub. There’s also a fridge for your snacks. It was very private, clean and nice. We will definitely stay again in a future visit to the area. Warning to elderly that there is an outdoor set of stairs, so not for those who can’t handle stairs.

Just what I was needing for a few nights traveling by myself. I was a bit hesitant before booking since it's attached to someone's house, but such positive reviews, I booked it. I'm glad I did. Mary was a wonderful host. Stairs up to your own entrance and balcony facing the mountains. Cute and charming inside with a spacious bathroom. Thank you, Mary for opening your home to people like me to enjoy.

This is a beautiful little hidden gem with a very personable host and a bonus furry friend. I enjoyed the quiet on the deck listening to the birds while taking in the mountain views. It was perfect for my daughter and I while visiting her nearby college!

Lovely upper room in a quiet residential area close to downtown Black Mountain. Room was clean and very quaint, with all we needed for our stay. Bathroom was updated and modern. Loved the deck, where we sat to have our morning coffee.

The room was just great. Very clean and everything was just perfect. The hostess was very nice and we enjoyed the three days spent there. Black Mountain is a beautiful little town and it’s close to Asheville. I recommend this location very highly

Comfortable, walkable to downtown Black Mountain, wonderful private deck, comfortable bed, good value, and plenty of water pressure in the shower! One less star only because of the lack of sound privacy with the room below. Otherwise, the place and the host were truly hospitable.

The place was so clean, and perfect for us. The soaking tub was fabulous, and super clean. Mary is lovely and left us a bunch of nice things just to make the trip a little easier! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a small but gorgeous place to stay.

This was our 3rd time staying at the cozy Upper Room! It has been a couple years since our last visit, and everything was as wonderful as we remembered! The space is clean, cozy, and Mary is a wonderful hostess! She even left water bottles, chocolates, and coffee for us to enjoy. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood setting that is perfect for walking your dog, and it is also perfectly located just a couple moments from town. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back!

The host was very welcoming. We have had the pleasure of staying several times now and have been very pleased each time. It is the perfect spot for us while in the area. Very close to downtown Black Mountain and other area attractions.

The room was very cozy and beautifully furnished with lots of towels etc. The views of the mountains and neighborhood from window and deck were exceptional. The hosts was very accomidating.

Great directions; beautiful linens

Mary’s place fit the bill perfectly. The suite was incredibly clean. The bathroom had a lovely tiled shower with a full relaxing shower spray. . The bed was comfortable and the attached deck was perfect for us to relax with our dog. The private fenced yard was loved by our pooch. Mary had detailed instructions on the WiFi and TV. The neighborhood was quiet. We felt perfectly safe to take our dog for a late evening walk. We will certainly be back, hopefully sooner than later.

Very comfortable, great location, very responsive host. There was a wide ranging power outage for just a few hours and host made sure we had flashlights and an electric lantern. Excellent. We’re going back.

The private upper room was perfect for our needs. Black Mountain was in the twenties, but our room was warm and cozy. Downtown is a minute away by car, or close enough to walk if you're into that sort of thing. Will definitely visit again.

Perfect location within walking distance to all the fun things to do in Black Mountain. The room has everything you need and the shower and huge bathtub are absolutely amazing! Mary adds a little something to make you feel like an appreciated guest. This time it was Christmas cookies.

We had another lovely stay in the Upper Room recently. We've lost track of how many times we've stayed! It's like coming back home as we know where everything is and what to expect. Ms. Mary has thought of all the 'extras' so that we don't have to! We enjoyed our time around the fire with both Ms. Mary, Mr. Will, Taz and Odie! We were happy to see for ourselves that the sweet town of Black Mountain survived the aftermath of Helene. If you ever get a chance to visit Black Mountain, you must stay at the Cozy Upper Room. Be sure to stop in at Mountain Nest Gallery for beautiful treasures from local artists, Foothills Grange for a unique indoor/outdoor brew experience, Louise's Kitchen for a good old fashioned breakfast, and Recess Coffee & Bakery for awesome breakfast pastries and be sure to grab a fresh-baked loaf of sourdough to take home!

Mary is an incredible host! She adds the nicest personal touches and the space is extremely clean. A great place to stay with everything you need. The weather was perfect and we were so close to all the attractions and shops that Black Mountain has to offer! 10/10 recommend.

We had a wonderful time! The Sat Farmers Mkt was only a few blocks away and downtown was so close. We walked EVERYWHERE. Great hiking in Montreat a mile up the road. Terrific weekend getaway. Accommodations were perfect, better than a hotel room. Exactly as advertised.
