IB was great. Lots of little restaurants and cafes. So close to the beach. Very dog friendly.
Great location
Very cute place in a nice neighborhood and right by the beach. Would absolutely stay again
There was a band rehearsing at the VFW Friday night, but they weren’t too loud and didn’t go too late. Besides that, it was quiet. Kitchen was well stocked. Things were clean. It smelled faintly of wet dog, but I like dogs, so that was fine. I did wish there had been better curtains on the bedroom window. The ambient city light was surprisingly bright. Beds were super comfy.
I love being so close to the beach easy walk to any of the restaurants as well. The band at the VFW did not bother me I just turned on my Bluetooth speaker and I couldn't hear the band not sure whether they could hear themselves either at that point. It's a Hyperboom. Just make sure you're okay with stairs there's a lot of stairs. Love the back patio the barbecue grill is great.
IB has really cleaned up the area and made it more of a beach town that welcomes tourist/vacationers. The location of the place is in a place that allows for you to walk to any of the restaurants/shops/convenience stores. The garage for our SUV (explorer) had enough room for us to get in and out of while still parked in the garage. To our surprise there was a lot of beach equipment (surf board, boogie board, chairs, umbrellas, ect) and 3 bikes that the listing did not mention. The ocean was under a contamination advisory from TJ so we did not get to visit the beach. The 2 bedrooms rooms were very spacious and beds were comfortable. The overall cleanliness of the place was satisfactory but it could use a little bit of a deep cleaning of the carpet on the stairs, rugs in the living room/bedrooms, windows and baseboards. With all the stairs it maybe a good idea for them to have some baby gates for those renting with children or small/elderly pets. Also there is a large floor mirror in one of the bedrooms that is not secured to the wall. As an adult I almost knocked it over when my duffle caught the edge of it. Be aware if you have smaller children that may pull that down. Overall it is a great place and I would definitely stay here again!
The location was great. No AC, so windows open and fans on. That was only a bit of an issue when there was an outdoor live band playing at the VFW directly next door. We had an issue with the shower leaking into the living room. I called and they asked me to stay at the property and wait for maintenance. I explained I wouldn't do that as there was no ETA and I was on vacation. I said I would stay close and waited for a call that never came. Meanwhile we were asked not to use that bathroom...the only one with a shower. I called twice the next day, both times they said to expect a call....no call. We couldn't shower the last 3 days we were there. I'm confident this was a minor issue that could've been very easily fixed (I work in home remodeling), but they simply neglected to show up. The property was great and in a great location, but neglecting tenants and leaving them with the inability to shower is inexcusable.
I stayed here 3 years ago in another unit with my sister and nephew so I knew the area. It was perfect for my husband and I too. Loved the covered garage parking, multiple beds and baths, lots of towels. Could have used some other pillows-theirs were not great but that’s legitimately my only “complaint”. Loved our time. Not far from Coronado Island and really not unreasonably far from the GasLamp district/downtown. Perfect place to stay imo
I stayed here a few years ago (in the condo across the one this time in the same complex) when I came with my sister and nephew. Loved the area so much I brought my husband this time as he’d never been to San Diego. He really enjoyed it too. The price was right and the beach is a half a block away. It’s also only 10-12 minutes from Coronado Island and 25 minutes from downtown, gas lamp quarters and 30 minutes from La Jolla. I would definitely go back!
The accommodation was excellent. Close to the beach too. Unfortunately too close to the VFW. Friday night the rock band playing at the VFW set up to play in the parking lot directly under the bedroom windows. Couldn't sleep until they finally shut down. Knowing that the band would be back again Saturday night we actually cut our vacation short and had to leave a day early. The bands playing at the VFW make this place much less desirable. Otherwise it was a great location/facility. Future visitors need to be well aware of this.
