If they can't, they can easily pick it up cheaply at op shops along the way. FREE wi-fi is available. Note a 4 NIGHT MINIMUM BOOKING applies, except for Christmas/Jan when it is 7 nights. This listing refers to the 2br unit.

2BR UNIT:
This unit enjoys wonderful lake and rural views from the living area and from the private patio with wood-fired bbq. There is also a sheltered viewing deck facing NE. The main living area is gas-heated and contains fans for the warmer weather. The master bedroom has a Q/S bed and the second bedroom two single beds. The unit can take up to 4 persons. In a corner, a laundry area with washing machine and trough is located. The shower and toilet can be used independently. A private parking bay is situated outside the unit.

Locality

Mallacoota remains a pristine area with lakes and beaches, surrounded by Croajingalong National Park, a World Biosphere Reserve. It is ideal for relaxed, nature-based holidays. Activities include beach and lake swimming, river and lake boat cruises, use of hire boats, ocean and lake fishing, boating, beach walks, bushwalking and bird watching. There are 2 restaurants and 3 cafes serving fresh healthy food and good coffee. The bakery has its own cafe. There are also two supermarkets, a pharmacy, a medical practice with 3 doctors and a community health centre. Mallacoota has been known over many years for its art and music activities, often attracting well-known performers (eg. Eric Bogle, Ronald Farren-Price and Slava Grigoryan). Admission prices are remarkably low. Altogether, Mallacoota is a place to unwind from big-city pressures and to experience nature at its most unspoiled.

Property

The Polehouse is located in the hilly Karbeethong area of Mallacoota, with close access to the lake and National Park. The main town is situated about 5 minutes away along a scenic lakeshore road. The property faces North across the lake and a farm with grazing cattle, picking up sea breezes and plenty of sun. The ocean is situated to the NE. Sunrise can be enjoyed across the lake, and the Howe Range turns pink as sunset approaches. Being at the bottom of a court, there is no through traffic. Guests often stay on the property most of the day to relax and take in the stunning views. They are encouraged to use herbs from the garden in their cooking.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this Mudbrick flat. The view from the apartment is absolutely stunning with panoramic green fields and crystal blue water. It was our first trip to Mallacoota from Melbourne and we were longing for a quiet weekend. John was very informative in his comms and gave us privacy during our stay. We would highly recommend this place to stay for anyone seeking a holiday in Mallacoota.

The unit had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The view was absolutely amazing, waking up to the most beautiful sunrise every morning. Will definitely be back in the future.

Could not love this property any more - roomy, comfortable, fabulous wooden counter tops and those VIEWS; very friendly people in neighbouring streets; so close to magnificent places to walk including the Croajingolong National Park. It was also nice to meet host John in person this time. Can't wait to visit again.

We had a lovely 10 days here. The pictures don’t do it justice. Fabulous views of the lake from within and without. A field of kangaroos right by us each day. The Nat Park next door along with all its beautiful living sounds. The house is very clean, comfortable and atmospheric. A sanctuary no less.
