Picturesque Cottage on a Beautiful Farm

This was perfect! I absolutely loved the farm! So quiet and relaxing. Mandy and Tyler are the perfect hosts. Their dog Maggie greeted me and cuddled next to me each morning while I drank my coffee. I will definitely book again when I am in the area.

Don't come expecting to spread out in a spacious room with all of the space and the amenities of a hotel in town. If you are willing to enjoy a small, simple space with a great view of the farm then this is a great place to spend some time.

I love this little cabin it has all you need .the Bed is So Comfortable. And Very Clean !

Loved the porch! I was able to sit out in the rocking chair during a rain storm. It was great and so peaceful!

We enjoyed being in a farm like setting. Many farm animals to see, a river to wade in, and enjoyed getting away. Hoping to come back soon!

The surrounding area offers lots of beautiful walking trails, and depending on day rover access, on top of the beautiful farm! Did miss out on the farm fresh breakfast so will probably be back! This property was exactly what we needed after staying in larger VRBO’s and hotel room rooms at the beginning of our vacation. We were greeted by Maddie the farm dog, and she soon became a welcoming staple during our stay. We absolutely loved the variety of cows right outside of our window along with the rather friendly chickens! If you were looking for something off the beaten path, this is the place for you. The hosts are amazing and we loved watching them run their farm along with their children. We were even lucky enough to see one week and two week old calves. This is the place we were able to stop, relax, read and just be at peace. The very kind hosts were also quick to respond to our inquiries!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The cottage was exactly as described and we loved sitting outside watching the animals while eating our farm fresh breakfast! We would gladly stay here again!

This place was so cozy! The farm was so cool and we loved that you could see the farm animals from the windows of the house. We got the farm fresh breakfast that we got to cook ourselves and it was fantastic! Overall such a great place for a relaxing retreat. Cannot recommend enough!

The Henry River Farm and Cottage was absolutely perfect for our anniversary getaway in the mountains. Mandy and her family were delightful as well. Even with the pumpkin patch festivities taking place, we felt we had privacy. I would love to visit again!

The floors could have used a good sweeping and mopping. The mat in the bathroom was very dirty and slippery on the ceramic tiles. In the description it doesn't say anything about having to walk down hill and over rocks to get to the river. I wasn't able to get down there. Not much privacy whatsoever. I know it's on a farm, but they never said anything about the kids running back and forth from their house to the barn and all the events they have going on on the farm. As I am a very private person,I had to close my blinds to have some privacy. Even though these things did bother me, I did enjoy watching the cows and playing with the owners dog when I did sit outside.

Absolutely relaxing and beautiful. One of the most comfortable and cozy small-house stays we've ever experienced. Comes as advertised and then some. The host was so kind and communicative. We hope to return before long!

It was so cozy and relaxing! We enjoyed the little cottage immensely! We cooked a few meals and sat on the back porch to eat. We relaxed and visited with the cows and chickens. Maddie the dog and Allie the cat came by at least once a day for petting and company. We were traveling on business and didn’t get to hang out as much as we wanted, but the owners are fantastic to work with and super responsive. We were totally entertained watching the children go about their farm chores! Great kids! We will definitely be back!

Wow, this is a beautiful little place to stay. Very peaceful, serene. The animals are everything you could hope they would be. You can tell the owners work hard to make this an amazing place. Clean, quiet, back porch is awesome. Breakfast was delicious! Look no further if you want a getaway in Morganton. We absolutely loved it!

A beautiful place to reconnect with family. Beautiful scenery

First off, what an adorable little cottage! My husband and I spent the night for our anniversary and had an amazing time! We were able to enjoy the peace and quiet while exploring the property and animals. It felt far enough away from everything, but was still 15 mins from everything. We went downtown for dinner and found some great places to eat. Enjoyed a bonfire and stargazing to end our night. We slept like babies in the silence of the mountains. The family was super nice and very accommodating to our needs. Everything from hooking to check out was simple. We highly recommend this property and we can’t wait to go back for a longer stay soon.

We had a fabulous stay in this quaint cottage. Just perfect for a couple wanting to get away from it all and relax. We were immediately greeted by a precious little pup upon our arrival. “Maddie’ made sure to make us feel very welcome. The cottage was exceptionally clean and very well decorated. We loved our stay

I stayed two nights in this comfortable little cottage. It’s a one-room structure with a cute kitchenette, tiny bar with barstools, and a comfortable queen bed. There’s a beautifully decorated bathroom with a bathtub/shower, tiny sink, and small toilet (a taller person than me might find it cramped). It would only be better if there were also a comfy reading chair or a loveseat, but then the room wouldn’t feel so spacious and open. Great view of the cows from the room/porch. Overall it’s very quiet except for occasional farm noise. Mandy was responsive if I needed something, but I had as much privacy as I wanted. I was greeted on arrival by a sweet cat and small dog, who were lovely porch companions. If you are seeking a solitary retreat, this cottage is a great choice, but be sure to check the Henry River Farm page on Facebook to see what public events may be happening during your stay.

Second year booking this property for our anniversary and we can’t wait to get back. We didn't actually make it there this year due to the hurricane, but we’re holding our breath that everything is up and running in no time.
