Stayed Mar 22, 2025My husband is permanently in a wheelchair. He is a double amputee above the knee. I opened the doorr and first noticed that the hallway was narrow which concerned me. I went straight to the larger bathroom (which was still small) and saw that my husband would not be able to get into the bathroom door much less the toilet because the sink was in the way. The door opening was 21” and my husbands chair was 23”, standard width. Then I noticed that the bed mattresses were so high off the ground I would not have been able to get my husband on the bed. Just out of curiosity I looked for the hot tub which was a selling point for us. It was down a concrete path in the back of the yard. I was shocked to see that my husband would not be able to get into the hot tub either. I asked these questions before I reserved. When I walked over to the hot tub the cover was filthy with leaves and limbs laying in a pool of water! We did get a refund but was not reimbursed for the room we had to find that night. We drove 8 hours and was on vacation so I had to find another place to stay that week. We are just upset because the house was advertised as wheelchair accessible and it wasn’t except for a cheap ramp to get in the front door!
