Penthouse San Francesco

Can honestly say this was one of our best rental experiences. The entire space was sparkling with very well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Our host met us outside and walked us through parking, apartment functions restaurant, shopping, towns to visit and was available to message for further questions... And the terrace was the perfect place to sit with a glass of wine and take in the view! Loved it!

My family of 4 stayed at this beautiful apartment for many weeks, and loved every minute of it. The patio is stunning- The perfect place for morning coffee, a relaxing break in the afternoon, and a glass of wine while admiring the stars. The location allows easy and quick access to central town via the escalators at San Francesco. Tons of delicious restaurants are walkable from the apartment. And we loved the convenience of the grocery store (2 minute walk). In addition, Alessandro and Maria are incredible hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, well fed, and up to date on happenings in town. I can’t say enough good things about this listing- it felt like home.

This penthouse apartment couldn’t have been more beautiful and better situated for a visit to Siena. Just outside the walls of the old city, you could either hike up the hill to the center of town or ride the escalators up. We roamed the enchanting streets and hung out in the Campo soaking up the ambience and history of this fascinating place. We took day trips out into the hill towns of Chianti, tasting wine and drinking in the views. All intoxicating!

This home is an oasis of beauty with plenty of privacy and space. Our host welcomed us with food and extras so we could settle in and not have to leave for some of the simple things like a light breakfast and snacks. Wonderful.

A wonderful apartment, clean, great location but most of all our hosts were amazing. Alessandro really was a pleasure to deal with and went above, and beyond when one of us needed some medical advice by putting us in touch with a trusted local doctor who was amazing. The whole stay was a complete delight.

What a wonderful apartment with a fantastic view of Siena from the terrace! This was a perfect location for us to stay in Siena with a car. We could explore Siena easily from the location. It is an easy walk to the escalators taking you up to Basilica San Francisco. From there an easy walk the rest of the way to Il Campo and the rest of the inner city. One may find it hard to leave the apartment with the stunning views and double doors opening to the terraces and fresh Tuscan air. We enjoyed our wine, salami, and cheeses while watching the moon set over the city. The apartment is well appointed and comfortable. It can easily accommodate two couples and another single if needed. The beds are very comfortable. You could make your own meals in the well equipped kitchen. Plenty of snacks provided as well. We were well attended to by Alessandro for any needs and guidance in Siena and around Tuscany. The location provided a perfect center of Tuscany to visit surrounding areas such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Florence, San Gimignano, and a nice drive through the Tuscan hills around Chianti. We would emphasize as in the description that this is a 4th floor walk up. For anyone with limited mobility or difficulty with lots of walking, it may not be the right spot. If you like walking and exploring the sights of one of the best Italian cities, and relaxing in a quiet neighborhood with glass of wine in hand, we would highly recommend. We would come back in an instant.

Alessandro is the ultimate host! Providing breakfast treats, bath amenities and a plethora of information on Siena and surrounding environs. The apartment is spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The beds are restful and an abundance of towels are provided. The terrace is perfect for al fresco dining and the view is unsurpassed. Morning coffee, afternoon cocktails and evening dining are a must an abundance this amazing view. Travel into the city on foot is manageable as are day trips by car, bus or train. Highly recommended for a memorable holiday.

We spent 23 days at Penthouse San Francesco and it could not have been better. The host is AWESOME! His only goal was to help us have a spectacular time, and we did. The location is perfect (1 minute to a supermarket, 1 minute to a pharmacy, 3 minutes to the city entrance) and the view is stunning. The Penthouse is as advertised, very clean, very well provisioned, and very quiet: we slept great! We will be back. I cannot say enough about the host - he was the best I've ever had and I've had them all over the world!

This is without out the greatest Vrbo we have ever stayed at in our lives! Five stars does not even begin to explain the property! Alessandro picked us up from the train station, and when we could not find a taxi for our departure, he came and picked us up and took us back to the train station! The villa itself was exquisitely, clean and completely stocked. Reviews are the wonderful city from the terrace were absolutely gorgeous. We were so impressed by our stay in our house that we are planning a return trip next year!

The view, the view, the view; the terrazzo floors; the generous and thoughtful hosts; the beguiling 70 travertine steps; the comfortable beds and wonderful linens; the bottle of wine and nougats that awaited us.... We could have lived for months at Attico San Francesco, in a daze of gracious living. A grocery store below the apartment offers quality goods from pre-made lunches and dinners to basics for breakfast. The apartment has a wonderful view of Siena from outside the walled city, with easy access for all able pedestrians via escalator into the heart of the old city. A binder at the apartment offers guidance for sights, dining and local points of interest. All basic and many additional thoughtful amenities are provided, from a really generous array of breakfast goods & snacks to washer / dishwasher / blackout shades to shower & personal grooming accessories (good shampoo, etc.). Communication with Maria Rosario and Alessandro was easy and fast; Alessandro kindly picked us up at the train station which made our travels so much easier and nicer, then helped us carry bags upstairs, no small feat! In sum, this is one of the best places in Italy with thoughtful and experienced hosts who excel in gracious and generous welcomes. Thank you, Alessandro and Rosario.
