Stayed Mar 1, 2025This is probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed. It has everything you will ever need for a long stay. The only thing I had to buy was groceries. The only issue I had was that the ice maker didn't work. The host was there when I checked in and brought in a bag of ice and put it in the freezer. Awesome! I communicated with the host via text message a few times during my stay and always got a reply. It can be a little noisy during the day with traffic, fire and ambulance going by since it's on a main road. It is under the flight path to the airport so the jets can be loud. I am a light sleeper and nighttime was quiet. I was never woken up by any noise. The property is located almost right in the center of the island. Perfect for walking anywhere you need to go. Sandy's Cafe is two doors down and has excellent food. Oasis is across the street and has great food as well. There is a grocery store one block away. There are two gas stations on the corner for anything you may need late at night. I was planning on booking here again next year but decided to go to Orlando instead. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Key West.

Stayed Dec 2, 2022The amenities were as listed and adequate as expected, the property was clean and tidy, even decorated for the Christmas holiday! I found it odd that although these added touches were provided only one garbage bag and one roll of toilet tissue were left for a monthly rental. Also, the refrigerator filter needed to be changed which was supposed to happen the first few days of my stay and hadn’t been when I left. No water nor ice so we added plenty to the plastic recycling for bottled water. You’ll also see in other reviews various comments about the noise, take them seriously. The walls are extremely thin and you literally hear everything. It is located on a rather busy street with several businesses surrounding the unit AND literally within one block from a main road. You’ll hear cars trying to race, traffic galore, airplanes right overhead, other guests talking in the driveway and employees during breaks all from inside. Not to mention the restaurant across the street must have had a private party as music could literally be heard word for word in the back of the unit; grateful for the 10 pm local noise ordinance. What I was not expecting from the listing was this is a duplex, there is another rental with a shared wall (which happens to be the bedroom and bathroom wall in this unit) with a wooden entry gate literally feet from the bedroom window. From all the noises that awoke us during the night I’d expect their side of that wall to be the kitchen area. You heard plates on countertops, drawers opening and closing, the microwave and even knocking on their door at 4 in the morning. Understandably the owner can’t guarantee courteous guests and it could just be my luck, but if I wanted to take that risk I’d have chosen a true condo. There is also a third rental on the property that is completely separate, that wooden entry gate was within feet of the bathroom window. It was rather startling the first time I heard that one, but once identified that unit was really no bother. Parking and foot traffic with all the store fronts plus these three units is quite challenging so plan for that too. Although I’ve stayed in this area several times due to a couple activities I enjoy daily during my stays, I somewhat expect some of the inconveniences listed, the shared wall will most likely prevent me from renting this unit again though.

Stayed Jan 24, 2020This property was perfect for two of us to spend 8 weeks. We enjoyed the neighborhood: close enough to walk and ride our bikes to Mallory Square, Higgs Beach, the library - but a little away from the late night noise. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the cottage was well-stocked, and we especially enjoyed the front porch & rocking chairs. The kitchen/living room is a little dark at night, so if you love to read, you may want book lights. Overall, it was wonderful, and we would LOVE to return!

Stayed Dec 31, 2018My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this cozy Old Town Key West apartment. We worked remotely throughout the month and the apartment was very conducive to working remotely. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and the high-speed Internet access was ideal. It was centrally located giving us lots of options to go to Duval and the beach during our free time as well as easy access to getting groceries. The owner was very responsive to any questions/requests that we made. We look forward to staying here again in the future and highly recommend it!

Stayed Nov 12, 2018We had a wonderful stay in this charming Key West cottage. The location is excellent, within walking distance of everything. We walked to Duval Street, to the wharf, and to White Street Pier, sometimes multiple times a day. Many fabulous restaurants are well within walking distance. The apartment is very nicely furnished, with everything you need. The apartment has fast internet and 2 very nice televisions with Netflix which was a bonus. The appliances and decor are top notch. The furniture and bed are very comfortable. Ieva was very helpful and very accessible for questions. We loved it and will be back!

Stayed Feb 1, 2018Formerly a humble, raw-wood cabin, this little house has terrific character. (The apartment is actually in the front, with the porch; there's another small one in the rear.) The owners have managed to preserve the character of the house by beautifully refinishing much of the original wood in the living room/kitchenette combination, and especially the complete outside of the house. Everything has been rehabbed: the kitchenette has beautiful wood cabinets, in keeping with the antique wood, and all the latest appliances; the bathroom is completely modern and very attractive; and the cozy bedroom is quiet and nicely appointed. The location is incredibly convenient: within easy walking distance to most of the things you'd want to do in Key West. Though there's a parking place, you won't need a car. The location might feel a bit busy to some (this is not secluded, despite its outer appearance), but the insulation from sound on the outside (part of the rehab, I presume) is most effective. I felt like I was right in the middle of the Key West action, but could always close the door and concentrate at any time of day or night on my writing, the main reason I was there. An extra plus is that the owners work a couple of doors away, and are easily available, should problems or questions arise. This is a wonderful place, and I recommend it very highly!
