Stayed Apr 28, 2025We could see that host tried very hard to create a nice place to stay but there were so many problems…broken door lock on sliding doors, everything on crazy remote controls, very unusual lights in the living room, lots of things taped to the walls and falling off. There was only one tiny air conditioner in one of the bedrooms. But the worst part was they were trimming trees behind the unit the entire time we were there.

Stayed Aug 13, 2025This was a great place to stay in Hilo. It is centrally located, so access to anywhere was a reasonable distance. Just wish it had a centrally located AC unit rather than just a bedroom one. Air was hard to circulate. Definitely hope to stay again! Mahalo!!

Stayed Mar 24, 2025Great location for our needs. Walkable to a gorgeous park and restaurant.(Ola Brew)Definitely clean, no bugs!Enjoyed the balcony and watching the chickens in the morning.Located in a vintage resort converted to apartments. All the residents we met were very nice. . Definitely use the 395 Hualani St address in the GPS. Much easier to park.Owner was very prompt to answer any questions. You will need to download an app to use the washer and dryer (it’s easy!)Pleasant stay.

Stayed Feb 19, 2025My family of 5, including 3 kids age 6-11, loved our stay here. We greatly appreciated the outdoor items to borrow such as boogie boards, cooler and picnic blankets. Having AC in one of the bedrooms was so nice! The location was great and wasn’t far from anything we did around Hilo. We enjoyed the chickens and boars around the complex but if you are a sensitive sleeper, they will probably wake you up. My kids loved playing in the pool. We struggled just a little arriving late at night and it being dark. We were not sure which building was #3 and had a little confusion about the door with the same apt number before the actual door. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Feb 2, 2025this place was very nice. loved the chickens that roosted in the tree and the 2 wild boars (that didn't bother anyone). the cats and ducks.... loved the little mini zoo! the kitchen and bathroom were updated and very modern. all new pans and place settings. the bedrooms were very small but we there to see the sites of hilo it didn't matter. the swimming pool didn't look to good-on the green side and they need more chairs and loungers around the pool. the property was close to hilo, stores and other sites. hilo is so much cheaper than staying in kona and kona is only 1.5 hours away from hilo. we made that trip several times during our stay! never saw any boarded property and didn't feel uncomfortable coming to the property after dark.

Stayed Jan 7, 2025Our upper level unit was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed, including a few, nice extra touches. Beds were comfortable, but bedrooms were very small and hard to maneuver around; beds took up most of floor space. We especially enjoyed watching the fun chicken and bird activity from our lanai each morning and evening. Stairs only; no elevator to upper level units. The grounds and pool around our building were clean and well-kept. The pool area had only a few chairs for sitting, some broken, and no lounges for lying down. The current state of the expansive resort-like buildings overlooking a large lagoon on the same property as our condo unit is quite different from the condo listing's pictures. They are boarded up, marked with graffiti and strewn with garbage, which felt a bit concerning to us. On the other hand, the sprawling grounds beyond the abandoned resort buildings, as well as an adjacent park, surrounding the lagoon area, were well-manicured and beautiful to stroll around on.

Stayed Oct 19, 2024The location was perfect for all of the places on the island we wanted to visit. It is less than 5 miles from ITO airport and 45 mins. from the The National Volcanic Park. The drive to the other side of the island was only 1.5 hours away as well. If you do not rent a car, the Hele bus service is also available. Our host thought of everything and the unit was well stocked with everything we needed and had not thought about. This unit had such beautiful natural surroundings. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning looking at hundred year old banyan trees and lush greenery. Since we were celebrating our 21st anniversary, our host had a pretty Lei decorating the door and chocolate covered macademia nuts waiting for us. Also, we wanted to go to the beach, but did not have any equipment. Our host had snorkeling gear, bogie boards, beach towels, a bag for our gear and a cooler ready for us to use. This host was awesome and he was attentive to our questions during our stay. We are looking forward to coming back next year.
