Stayed May 11, 2025We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The location in La Spezia was absolutely perfect — central, walkable, and a smart choice over staying in Cinque Terre itself. While the villages are gorgeous, they were also extremely crowded. La Spezia had a much more relaxed atmosphere, better shopping, more dining options, and overall a more enjoyable experience. Plus, the food prices were noticeably more affordable, and we didn’t have to deal with long lines like in Cinque Terre. Getting around was easy — the train station to Cinque Terre is nearby, and a round-trip ticket was only €9, which felt like a bargain. The water is close by, and everything we needed — restaurants, shops, cafes — was within easy walking distance. Parking was on the street, but we had no trouble finding a spot, and it wasn’t a challenge at all. Our host, Erik, was AMAZING. He stocked the fridge with fresh fruit and even a bottle of champagne to welcome us, which was such a thoughtful touch. He also recommended a fantastic local restaurant that not only had delicious food but was able to accommodate my gluten allergy with no problem. On top of that, he kindly allowed us to check in early, which was incredibly helpful and appreciated. This was one of our favorite stays and we’d return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!
