Jacksonville, Florida
Summary:
If you’re looking for a recently renovated (as of Apr 23) apt in the heart of an up & coming historic district then this is the spot for you! You’ll be steps from restaurants, breweries, boutiques, coffee shops, & a bakery!
We've curated this space to give a sylvan feel reminiscent of your favorite 80s NES adventure classic!
This apt is adjacent to a busy street so you WILL experience street noise while staying here. This is a wonderful yet developing urban neighborhood.
The Space:
Guests have access to the entire 2 BR / 1 BA apartment featuring luxury vinyl planking throughout the apartment except for the freshly retiled bathroom.
The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed bed complete with memory foam/spring mattress. Additionally, there is a night stand, a chest of drawers, and a closet.
The 2nd bedroom features a full-sized bed with a memory foam/spring hybrid mattress, two nightstands, a six drawer dresser, and a closet.
The living room includes a sleeper sofa with a cot that you pull out and pop up to form a full-sized bed when combined with the ottoman, a wall-mounted Smart TV (with local channels, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu), a desk, and a kitchen table.
The kitchen is stocked with utensils, a microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven, refrigerator/freezer, oven/range, cooking utensils/cutlery and plates.
We completely refreshed the bathroom to include a luxurious walk in shower, and a double vanity. We provide soap, shampoo, and conditioner as well as bath and hand towels and wash cloths.
We have also just added an in unit washer/dryer as well that makes this apartment the perfect spot for longer term guests.
The apartment is meant to subtly "Link" you to your favorite sword-wielding NES hero. See if you can spot the references throughout the unit!
Guest Access:
Guests have access to free in unit laundry and gated parking - limit 1 car per guest in the gated parking area due to its size.
The Neighborhood:
Springfield is amazing! It is a diverse, vibrant, up and coming neighborhood located just north of Jacksonville's downtown. You'll initially fall in love with the gorgeous late 19th/early 20th century houses but you'll want to stay for the amazing people. Join a First Friday party, check out the weekly Main Street cruise, downtown's Art Walk, Porchfest if you're in town in the fall, or one of the yearly home tours.

Springfield is a great neighborhood for walking and biking!
Jacksonville's Skyway, with limited service around the Urban Core area is a half mile to the south and is co-located with Jacksonville's central bus station.
Ride sharing services are also great options as well and driving is preferable for areas well outside of central Jax (St Augustine, Brunswick, Gainesville, etc.)
Interaction with Guests:
If I am in town I will be happy to interact with you and show you around historic Springfield!
Sketch neighborhood. Although there was a locked parking lot adjacent to the building, the code they gave us to get into the building didn’t work. They never followed up with a working code. Had to walk around to the front of the unit to enter but we weren’t about to enter from the front at nightfall. Also did not sleep as many people as was stated in the listing. Stained mattresses and a day bed that literally fell apart when we pulled out the lower mattress. Missing drawer in kitchen etc. We informed owner that we were not staying, and the outdoor cameras can back us up on that (if they were even working at all) but they still charged us anyways for cleaning and rental that we never used even after repeated requests for even a partial refund. DO NOT book this place. A HUGE DIRTY DISSAPOINTMENT.
Once we arrived we had to contact the owner of the property to get our check in formation because VRBO never sent over anything for us to check in. Owner was quick to respond and send us check in door code. Once we got inside the building it smelled like animal urine through the stairs. Once we got inside the actual unit we checked the beds to make sure our sheets were clean and they had hair, dirt, stains, and sand. We contacted the owner to ask for clean sheets and they said the property manager would bring us some, which they did within the hour. The floors were very dirty with sand and there was leftover trash in the drawers from the previous guests. It’s really clear this unit was poorly thrown together after the last guests left as they couldn’t even bother to change the sheets. The ones we got smelled like dogs so we went to Walmart and got new sheets and comforters so we could at least sleep with some piece of mind. Also there’s no mattress protectors so there’s just giant pee stains on the mattresses. Also the location of this place is horrible and sketchy. Every night there was homeless people outside the front of the unit laying down for the night and you heard people fighting over cigarettes, street noise wasn’t an issue for us for it was a very unsafe area and I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have children or like to do walking around at night. Also it’s called “ground 0 for brewery lovers” but the brewery’s have been shut down and there’s not very many open businesses, the whole listing is misleading. We wanted to check out and find a hotel but there was no open rooms for us in surrounding Jacksonville. I really wish we could get our money back and feel sick we even had to pay a cleaning fee for this gross place. I’m not sure if the cleaner or property manager communicate but this is a poorly maintained thrown together property. There’s also a broken window in the living room and the carpets are covered in pet hair as well as the comforters…I could go on and on about this place but I’ll just leave it at Do NOT stay here.
