New to VRBO! 2/1 Mid Island Apartment, Sleeps 5

We had an amazing stay while visiting Nantucket for the 1st time! This property is located in a great location - and the bus stop was across the street! The grocery store was only a few blocks away so we also walked there. The property itself was very comfortable, and the host was delightful to chat with. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately. We felt very safe and I would definitely stay here again if I ever get another chance to visit Nantucket.

I am deeply disappointed with my stay at this property. This space is an unfinished basement that is absolutely not rental-ready, and the host Jias's response to my concerns was entirely dismissive.Major Issues with the Property:Unfinished & Exposed Structure: There is no ceiling. The wide-open floor beams, studs, nails, wiring, and plumbing are completely exposed. Because it is completely unfinished, insulation was actively falling out of the ceiling and landing directly onto my bed sheets.Severe Cleanliness & Cobwebs: There are literally cobwebs covering the entirety of the exposed basement ceiling and walls. It looks like years of accumulated dust and filth. I literally wrote my name in the thick dust on the tv stand furniture. It is a severe hazard for anyone with allergies.Safety Hazards: Access to the unit requires navigating a long, steep, and wet wooden staircase, which may be dangerous. Inside, a cut-off chimney sits directly over the couch, actively dripping soot onto the living area.Substandard Furnishings: The property features a filthy, industrial-looking sink that belongs in a commercial basement, not a vacation rental, alongside cheap, dorm-style furnishings.Noise: The noise from upstairs is unbearable. At 6:00 AM, loud footsteps and running around woke me up immediately.When I reached out to the host with photo evidence, I was met with dismissive, canned responses (I hear your concerns, I understand) without resolution

The location was perfect for our stay. Parking was easy. There was also a public transit stop across the street.

We stayed for a long weekend, a group in our mid-30s, and overall the experience was as expected based on the listing and photos.It was relatively clean, though we did notice a fair amount of cobwebs throughout. Also worth noting: the owner lives on-site and did ask us to keep the noise down on Friday evening, so this may be something to keep in mind if your group plans to be social. Sound insulation is also limited—you can hear everything from upstairs, with noise typically starting around 7am.it suited us fine for a short weekend getaway. Just a few things to be aware of depending on your preferences.

We had a fantastic stay at this rental! Charles, the owner, was incredibly welcoming—and meeting his sweet puppy Honey was a bonus highlight. The location was ideal, with easy access to the Nantucket Wave bus system, which made getting around the island a breeze. Inside, the home has a unique industrial-nautical charm that’s both stylish and cozy—thoughtfully designed with lots of character. It was a great experience from start to finish, and we’d absolutely stay here again!

Lots of room, good access to the whole island. Well worth the price.

Pros: bus stop directly across the street was a huge plus and it is free through 2025. Renovation of basement (and it was bright inspite of lower level location) done very well and decor was locally specific which we loved! Lots of books, comfy beds, hot water in the shower even with three people taking showers in a row. TV worked flawlessly. Temps in unit were perfect throughout the stay. Plenty of blankets for the beds. Cons: a bit musty yet owners did well to have a dehumidifier in the unit. Lots of cobwebs in corners. Had to clean coffee pot before using—there is no dishwasher. Need mirror in bedroom!! You can hear the people living upstairs walking around, sneezing, using the water.

Very easy check in and communication. Stay was very clean and convenient to all Nantucket has to offer. Thank you!
