Stayed Dec 31, 1969I spent an awesome week in the Katharina holiday house in October 2015. The house was roomy and clean and equiped with all things you could wish for for a comfortable holiday stay. The environment is calm and relaxing and the house is very conveniently located: a stone's throw away from the river and a bunch of interesting wineries, only a 25-minute bus ride from the nearest railway station and a 40-minute walk alongside the river (or a 10-minute bus ride) from Bernkastel-Kues. But what I will for sure remember the most is the fact that no effort seemed too much for the owners to make you feel at home right from the start: from the fridge stocked with enough produce to get through the first day (including a bottle of their very own housewine) to the spectacular guest evening hosted by the owners, complete with lavish diner and wines. Having said all that, the value you get for your money here is absolutely stellar and I have absolutely no problem whatsoever in warmly recommending this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.
