Arabi, Louisiana
Just 3.5 miles from the French Quarter this patio apartment is in one of the safest, crime free zip codes in the U.S. 70032
Clean, quiet, yet just a few minutes from the action. We really enjoy sharing a lifetime worth of knowledge of being a resident of New Orleans with all of our guests. let us guide you to all the best local restaurants are. Eat where the locals eat and avoid the tourist traps. Two completely private rooms for groups of 4. 2 adults and 2 children (or 2 small persons around 100 lbs.) Beautiful covered patio with lush green plants at your front door. Lez se le bon temps roule!!!
It was a cute little apartment but I was planning on having the fridge pictured but it had a small dorm fridge. The walls are paper thin also. It was clean and the patio was very nice.
In spite of what some are saying, the property is very safe. You're right across from Nat'l Guard if that helps. The owners communication was EXCELLENT. Always got back to me right away anytime I had any questions/concerns. The property was good. A few things though: You are SHARING the home. Good news is there is a door that locks in between so you will have no interaction with your roommates. Second, you will be sharing parking. It sounded like you have 2 parking spots to yourself but apparently this is shared so if you have 1 cars, you will have to park on the street I guess which I wouldnt recommend as street is narrow. Our side of the home did not have a real kitchen. Just the a small fridge, toaster and microwave. Not a big deal but you should be aware. On our side you also dont have access to the thermostat, so if you are hot/cold you are at the mercy of the neighbor. Speaking of which if your neighbors are loud, you will hear. ever. word. So if that's a concern, beware. Finally, biggest gripe, shower drain drains VERY SLOW so it'll be like you're standing in the shallow end of the pool as you shower. This apparently has been told to the owner before based off past reviews but has yet to fix. Overall, if I knew exactly what I was getting into I would still rent the property but these kinds of issues, could scare off other guests so keep this in mind. Overall tho 4/5 stars
The property itself worked well for our family of four. Our girls had their own room with a twin and trundle bed. Everything that the owner had control of went great! It was nice to be able to park our car for free and drive into town in about 12 min. The only thing that was different than I imagined was the area of the property. It is about one street away from the lower 9th ward and required driving through not the best areas of New Orleans every time we went to the city. We were there during New Years so we also had a lot of random fireworks and car alarms in the neighborhood, but again not something the owner could control. Overall it worked for what we needed.
It was nice that it a big back fenced in yard but the unit was not what we expected pictures and details on site it is not what you expect very disappointed. I would not stay there again.
Nice location, very easy to get in and out. Mike was very helpful in sharing knowledge of some local places to eat and enjoy our time in New Orleans. Will stay here again if we come back.
Great place! We only needed a place to shower and sleep… so we didn’t care about the mini kitchen. Ubers were an easy ride to FQ and JS. Michael was very responsive and helpful. Listen to his restaurant picks! Felt very safe. Comfortable beds. Great shower. It had everything we needed.
Property very nice. Rooms clean. Only thing I ready didn't expect. No kitchen. Only toaster, coffee maker & small refrigerator. Other guess had access to kitchen. So if you rent this part of the house , you will need to eat out. Beautiful outdoors. Very Safe. Close to downtown area. Thank you will book again.
Stayed here for a fishing trip. Property manager Michael was the best and was always in reach and gave us some local knowledge of the area and fishing. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed our visit to LA! Went to a concert and toured Bourbon St. area, plantations and WWII museum. Property was a perfect place to rest after busy days.
Overall our experience was good; however there are some major details that I'd like to share along with some suggestions for the host. 1- Location The property is located in the poorest neighborhood in all of New Orleans - the ninth ward. We had all of our Uber drivers ask us what we as tourists are doing in the neighbourhood at 10-11pm at night. 2- Safety The front door to our suite (the back suite) opened into our bedroom. A suggestion for the host is to install a security latch, similar to a hotel so guests can sleep peacefully at night. 3- Fridge/kitchen The coffee maker was not cleaned after the previous guest. Not a big deal, we washed it out. It would be very helpful if a kettle was provided to boil some water. 4- Bed/mattress The mattress/bed frame combo was terrible. The wooden bedframe kept squeaking each time you turned. The mattress was more soft than we personally liked. 5- Transportation Given the neighbourhood, public transit is not an option, especially late at night. A typical Uber was $15 each way to French Quarter. Something to factor in when considering the location.
Property was small but big enough for me and hubby nice area and neighbors very nice will go back again
Michael was great. The apartment was cozy away from crowds but close to everything. Will stay again.
Pros: The property was very nice, felt safe, nice and cool in the unit, it’s far enough away from everything for a quiet (area) but a less than 20 minute drive to get to things along with convenient food and shopping near by. The owner was great the one time we spoke about check out. Cons: The tub and sink drained a little slow while using, not to big of an issue though. The other thing, I encourage the owner to post a nice message for other occupants to lower their voices if possible, it is attached to another section via a locked door and let me tell you we heard EVERY word of the neighbors but it seemed they just talked really loud to each other. I turned the tv up and closed the door for a slight relief, so if you’re lucky and get quiet neighbors at the same time you are there, you’re in a great place with little to no issues.
Would rent again.
We had to contact Mike one time and he was very gracious and made us feel like family! I would highly recommend this property to full experience the culture of New Orleans!!
The property owner Michael is a great guy! The apartment was clean, spacious and beautiful. The covered patio was cool. I'll definitely be renting this property again.
Perfect if you plan on driving and don’t mind it a little cozy. We stayed for several days the second weekend of jazz fest and found it easy to get into the French Quarter from there by car.
Nice place away from the hustle and bustle.
