The good: excellent location, close to shops/restaurants/amenities and ski hill. The unit is small but well laid out and functional. The property management company got back to me promptly when I reached out to them. The bad: I gave this stay a 3-star rating largely because the property did not meet my expectations in terms of guest comfort for a 6-day stay. There was barely any toilet paper, no dish soap (or really other cleaning supplies), the coffee machine did not work, dishwasher rack was broken, there was no broom/mop/vacuum/dust pan, and the unit was 29 degrees upon our arrival (fire place was on). Also, the host did not provide check-in details in advance, I had to reach out to them the day before my arrival.Lastly, the ad states parking is available, but makes no mention that it costs 20/ per day.

The property was in the village — dangerously convenient, really. Everything I could possibly need was within walking distance, which meant there was absolutely no excuse for me not to exercise. All the lakes and trails were just a quick 15–30 minute bike ride away, which sounds wholesome until you realise I made a habit of rewarding myself with pint immediately after. The view of Sproatt Mountain was spectacular — the kind of sunset that makes you think you should propose to someone, or at the very least write poetry you’ll regret later. As for the bike storage and wash station — brilliant idea. Nothing says “holiday” like power-hosing your muddy bike while pretending you’re on Top Gear. What truly made the stay, though, were the people: Sam, with the smoothest check-in and check-out I’ve ever experienced (I half expected a red carpet and a brass band), and Rebecca, who patiently rescued me whenever I locked myself out… which was, let’s just say, more than once.I stayed nearly two months in summer — long enough to grow attached, short enough not to be charged property tax. And yes, I’m already plotting a return in winter.

This incredibly central VRBO is in just the right place for a tourist – and that is its primary strength. Check in was challenging, as we did not realize from the description that this was essentially a dorm room operated from a hotel-like main desk. Once we figured this out, we worked with the incredibly disenchanted and bored staff to get checked in. The dorm similarity continued when one sees the unit which is very functional and had everything we needed but was musty smelling, a bit worn down, with a claustrophobia inducing tiny room with strange glass doors, that was almost exactly the same size as the bed within it. That room also quite musty smelly. The view was very nice, though.
