Oswego, Illinois
The perfect stay for a traveling professional as the studio apartment provides all the comforts for work and relaxing with a newly updated kitchen area, electronic standing and sitting work desk, comfortable mattress for queen size bed, 24/7 vivint security system and much more to help create the best stay experience for you!
The place is clean, small, but modern and well appointed. The owner is nice, and quick to respond, but there are issues. First, it is overpriced by $20-30 a night. Second, it was listed as a studio. This is misleading. It is a room in a divided former house. Third, while each room has a locked door, it is the equivalent of a bedroom door. In addition, the main front and back entrances were never locked as other residents required access. It is not a dangerous place at all, but I would not describe this as secure. Fourth, the mounted TV looks ready to fall off the wall. Fifth, I was informed the unit was double-booked the day I was to move in. Luckily there was another unit available, and the owner did provide a significant refund. But I would confirm you booking prior to move-in day. Sixth, I was under the impression the W&D was in-unit, but the listing was vague. It is not in the unit and it is coin operated. Otherwise, Oswego is lovely and relaxing. I'd say this is ok to book if someone else is paying for it, or you can negotiate a lower price. I also wish the Vrbo scoring system allowed for half-stars. Here, I rounded down.
This was a very cozy little apartment. I was able to walk to downtown Oswego and get my exercise in. I enjoyed having my own private space. The property manager was awesome. She resolved my check in issue immediately. She always answered my messages.
