Modern & Spacious Stay in Historic Bronzeville

This was my worst Vrbo experience in 20 years of bookings. The photos in the listing are not current. Thruout the unit fixtures were broken or missing pieces. Ex: kitchen trash can is badly dented & won’t close; plywood front of bar is broken all the way thru in several places; broken blinds; closet doors detached & leaning on the wall; 2 sinks missing pieces; panel on tub face held on with tape. Bad DIY jobs incl sloppy paint on cabinets & bath fixtures; curtain rod over master closet hung w/one side 6 in higher than the other; shower curtain @12 in too long so it sucks down the drain. All of this gives the impression of neglect & wringing from the unit without investing in its maintenance.Worse was the mgmt. I had trouble opening the lock when I got to the unit, msged Ajibade and I got in. Without notice he showed up at the door that evening to work on it and was there for a half hour, ultimately changing the batteries. The next day I got a msg saying that a window guy would be coming to the unit between 7:30-9:00am the next day to do repairs. Wth??? I told him I would prefer repairs not be scheduled during our stay. He was clearly annoyed. Next day I started getting msgs (8 total) saying there were too many people tho I told him in my 1st msg & he confirmed I would have 5. He said he was charging another 550. I was there to enjoy my daughter’s graduation, not to have issue after issue from him require my attention. I could go on. A difficult and unpleasant rental.

This is an ideal place for U Chicago and easy access to downtown. Quiet, clean, spacious, thoughtful touches. Excellent communication throughout. Will definitely stay here next time I’m in town!

The house was perfect for our stay in Chicago. It's located in a quiet area with no traffic. Walgreens is super close and Target is about a 5 minute drive. There are loads of dining options nearby as well. The apartment is secure. There is a code to get into the gate, a code for the front door and a code for the apartment. The apartment is huge so with just three of us we each had our own bedroom and plenty of room to move around. I can't imagine that there would be anything you would need that wasn't included.

What a great place to stay! Interior of the unit was very nice and modern. Amenities were great. We felt safe and secure the entire time. Our host was in constant communication to make sure our needs were met. We would definitely recommend this stay!

Our group enjoyed our stay. Bronzeville is a great location because it is central to a lot of things we were interested in doing. The host was very communicative and check-in/check-out was easy. The space was as advertised and well kept, with some updates and charming decor for comfort. There was plenty of space for our party of 5 to spread out. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the washer/dryer was clutch. It is an older building so we did experience minor things like inconsistent temperature room to room, weak water pressure in one bathroom, and some things in need of repair. However, it was not anything that was overly concerning. If you're looking for a comfortable space in a central location, I'd recommend staying here.

It was a great property, quiet and clean would book again!
